yeah, and the guy at the cafe told me it was the mild stuff and warned me to take only one or two toke's but hey no young kid can know more than this old guy .... my teenage kids had to hold my hands to lead me back to the hotel ...
ya it's one of their favourite stories, no doubt all their friends and every friend on facebook has heard it by now..."we smoked pot in amsterdam and our dad was wasted!"..oh well we shared an experience and now we're bonded for life...
I may try it, but, I'm not a big ale guy... I'm a huge Yuengling fan, and, I don't even like their ale... But, I'll try anything once...
The weather of individual countries...and even states...are not covered in U.S schools. I have to chuckle because years ago I mentioned on another forum that I thought Canada had more snow then the Oklahoma. I said that....because any state north of me had significantly more snow. Boy, was I reamed up and down by an outraged Canadian that was offended I wasn't up on her weather. Apparently she lived in British Columbia..in the same area swath as Seattle which apparently doesn't get a whole lot of snow either. I dunno...if you don't know squat about Oklahoma....I won't get upset. So its hard to relate really.
true enough...but it's the really dumb stuff that gets canadians upset like when people think we live in igloo's, have polar bears wandering the streets, we still use dogsleds, it is irksome...so you end up collateral damage getting reamed unfairly for a understandable generalization... and the person who gave you a hard time made an embarrassing generalization, the coastal region of BC does not get a lot snow at lower altitudes, everywhere else which probably 95% of BC does...parts of the interior region get up to 4 meters(12ft) of snow, the most in canada...
Not trying to be rude, but you do come off as a bit ignorant. Have you considered looking into some things yourself, as opposed to asking people to supply you with information? Not trafficking in stereotypes would probably better endear you to people as well.
Seriously? I was just trying to start a thread to bull(*)(*)(*)(*) about, and, it appears to have been successful... Imagine... An internet forum where people start conversations, or "threads" about a topic, and others participate in the discussion... And, I don't think asking whether Canada was predominantly cold based off of pictures that I've seen counts as a stereotype... *shrug*
In fact, a good thread you started. But like any good thread is usually muddled with by (*)(*)(*)(*).sorry.
Ok, ale as you know is traditionally brewed beer using hops and barley and the nearest thing Yuengling brew to a traditional ale is 'Lord Chesterfield'. All their other beers except Black and Tan (a porter) are lagers/pilseners and use a different brewing method. Britain is the home of real ales which should be drunk at room temperature rather than ice cold-an American preference-which kills the flavour and aroma.
Well said. Do pass the word on. I grow so tired of this drivel about our 'warm beer' - which was the reaction of people who'd never been allowed anything with a taste.
Apparently that particular version of the well known ad campaign was created in 2010, after Cameron gave Obama a bottle of 'Hobgoblin' ale which he refused to drink 'warm': [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O45M_mOgFfM"]Beer Exchange[/ame]
