Never realized how much smaller the Bears were compared to the BUFFs. Got to climb into a TU-142 back in the mid-90s; pretty cool at the time!

Show off. I got to fly in a Herk. I have a lot more respect for you guys. Landing that thing is a (*)(*)(*)(*)(*). I would fail trying to get the nose high.
The respect is mutual, high performance aircraft requires that the pilot think miles ahead of the airplane....something I probably would fail at. Add a combat environment to that and having to think ahead of your opponent as well... it's not for the faint of heart. In the fighter World, you either win or prepare for a long walk home after your bird turns into a smoking hole in the ground.
I really need to get a decent quality digital camera, and stop using the camera on my cellphone. Then again, I'm not sure what the USAF would think of me taking pictures on a GSC base... BTW -- I'm sure you know that these are the B-2's of the 393rd Bomb Squadron - the only air group to ever deliver nuclear weapons in combat.

I think the Herk guys were targeted with MANPADS more often than we were. Downside to being low and slow. Nowadays, everyone flies into combat.
