Ending world hunger by harvesting the obese is the sister project to ending world poverty by taxing the wealthy. Let's look at the arguments for both, and I think we will find that they are the same: 1. They have had more than their fair share. 2. Most of them inherited it anyway. 3. It's not "good" for them, to have so much. 4. They wouldn't have so much if they hadn't "cheated". The parallels seem to be there.
Multi-stratergy approach to solving world hunger... The world can feed itself without ruining the planet, study says October 14, 2011 - Author Jon Foley says feeding a growing world presents a huge challenge. But employing many strategies simultaneously can meet the problem.
you can feed the entire world anyways. there's no shortage of food, it's in the wrong places. world hunger is a logistics problem.
This is true. One solution that will never be found to solve world hunger is cannibalism, though. Kuru is the disease people get from eating other people. It is similar to mad cow disease. I don't think we will see Soylent Green outside of sci-fi.
More like a corruption problem when you also consider the purported politicians that head those countries which need it most.
You're going to have to eat the poor farmers at the edges of the tropical rain forests...otherwise known as JUNGLE because they are already trying to eek out an existence for themselves and their families by planting crops in an area where they have to beat back the jungle all the time. They say the tastiest meat is next to the bone though.
Very true. A good example would be our ill-fated 'peace mission' to help deliver food to starving Somalians. We're doing it again now, we actually have American boots on Somalian ground. I am completely against it. Some people cannot be helped and I cannot find it in me to forgive the vileness of Mogadishu before.
Well, obesity is actually the major nutritional problem among America's poor. Also, I think this has been suggested before.
if we chain them to (stationary) bicycles equipped with dynamo generators? Then they would cycle all day and all night, generating electricity. If one of the obese fatsos slows down on the bike, a computer connected speedometer would direct a series of electric shocks across his/her head, until he/she accelerates again to the required speed level. This has psychologial benefits too, it automatically trains the brain to get addicted to moving (cycling) for speed, in the hope of reducring the electric shocks. And this then builds a natural attitude and motivation to automatically avoid obesity. What's your take?
Most of the world just needs to learn how to plant a freakin seed. The other half need to learn how to overthrow a dictatorship hell bent on abusing its citizens.
We tolerate exceptionalism in every area of life except wealth. In universities all over the world, we actually study the ideas of a relatively few people. We learn from the exceptional people. We read the exceptional people. The "distribution" of good ideas has been far less equitable than has been the "distribution" of wealth. We tolerate the exceptionally obese, the exceptionally beautiful, athletic, brilliant and creative. We celebrate the exceptional accomplishments of those oh so few we depend on for the majority of the truly exceptional accomplishments. Why wealth ? If it were truly the inequality of wealth, why not be more concerned with the vast majority of those who have less and give of your more? The truth is that most are not as concerned with the vast majority with less, and therefore give, as they are concerned with the small minority with more, and therefore seek to take. Envey is the inability to tolerate others having more than oneself. The envious can be content with very little as long as they are not aware of others having more. The bible likens envy to having a worm. The envious are never satisfied; they are the least likely to give from their own means (The only true giving).
I don't see it that way , BrickLayer , but in an effort to achieve a better understanding of your post , you seem to equate obesity with poverty , and managed somehow to link that with the Tax Code , could you please explain yourself ? ??? what parallels can be drawn from that ?? Your views are
You're reading way too much into what is not there. I chose obesity to illustrate the absurd by employing the absurd.

I've got a different idea. We could learn from Tyler Durden and use the obese to make soap. Inadequate hygiene is the cause of most disease, so we should use the unhealthy to prevent poor health. We don't even have to kill them. Just liposuction their fat asses and cleanse the stinky. It's a win/win/win.
