We shall see... Well, I'll have to keep up with it on my phone, cause I'll be at work tonight, but, it's gonna be something regardless... LET'S GO DUKE!!!
This isn't Belmont that Duke is playing, it's THE Ohio State University. Jared Sullinger will be all over those scrubs.
Scrubs!? Lol... Keep in mind that those "scrubs" beat Tennessee, Michigan, & Kansas, all in one week, in back-to-back games, 3 nights in a row... AND we already beat Michigan State this year... So, I don't know who these scrubs are that you're referring to, or how you expect one player to take out Duke, but, we'll see bout 8:30 CT tonight how it plays out...
As if any of those teams compare to the mighty Buckeyes. Let's not forget Duke beat a fearsome squad from Belmont by a point Aaron Craft, Buford, Sullinger...at home? The Blue Devils shall return home like whipped puppies with their tails between their legs! I hope this trash talk doesn't come back to bite me in the ass...
Ohio St. is favored by 7.5 over Duke tonight, hmm... Even though it's in Columbus(I believe), the line seems high.
A: Belmont has improved gradually each season, plus with a new backcourt, we have chemistry to work on as a team... B: Craft and Sullinger are the only guys on that team with consistently good numbers across the board... We have 5 players scoring in double digit PPG, plus, Seth Curry, Ryan Kelly, Austin Rivers, & Mason Plumlee are dangerous across the board... The rest of our team fits into their spots nicely... But, as far as trash talk, all part of the art of fandom...
Belmont sucks. They're 3-2 and no where near a top 40 team. Secondly, William Buford is averaging 18 a game and Thomas 13.
That may be true (heck, we know it's true), but that's not how betting lines are set (strength of teams, location of game, injuries, etc.) or how they move. The betting public, with their action, may make the line move one way or another. Only gambling losers, which Vegas counts on, bet with their emotions.
First, I said Belmont is improving... They can play a decent game... Second, you're right, I neglected to mention Buford's PPG output, which is impressive... However, he doesn't really offer anything else, except say, half a block/game... Third, we're y'all's first real challenge on the year... Your schedule has been soft up to this point...
From the looks of that game, those fruity little cupcakes from Duke didn't deserve to share the same court as the Buckeyes. Outplayed from start to finish. The Buckeyes are just on a different level.
Agreed, Duke only plays Ohio State once this year. Nothing about that game would indicate to me or anyone else that Duke can play with Ohio State. More physical, better defensively, just plain old better at almost every position on the court.
Like I said, it wouldn't happen twice... I'm not the least bit ashamed that we took an L to OSU... Quality team... But Duke never, and I mean never plays like that... We couldn't get it going last night... We'll see how the season plays out from here...
Well you can't equate Duke teams of years past to this team. Duke is good, just not as good as they were ranked. The 1 point win over Belmont was telling and last nights game said a lot. OSU took away the 3 and they looked baffled. They couldn't defend OSU, at really any position. Duke has players, just not many top athletes.
Whatever you say... I can say it when it's been consistent over the past 30-ish years... And once Sullinger leaves, OSU will return to its place as a football school... But, I definitely respect their game right now... They are up near the top where they currently belong... And honestly, how can you say Duke shouldn't have been #4 this week? Did you watch last week? We are a hell of squad... We've just had a couple of bad games... Happens when you lose 3 star-caliber players all at the same time and have to regroup from there...
Oh please. Since 2006 OSU has won 3 Big Ten tournaments, 4 Big Ten regular season titles, played in a National Title Game and has been the #1 seed twice in the National Tourney. 2 years ago they had the best player in the country in Evan Turner. Every year since Matta has been at OSU hes has a top 10 recruiting class. Acting like Sullinger leaving is going to be the end of OSU basketball is beyond retarded. I can understand you feeling that way after he basically molested your Blue Devils for 40 minutes, but so did Craft, Buford, and Thomas.
Eh, do we really have to do this... Since 1980: 4 National Championships 11 Final Fours (most since 198485) as well as five in a row from 1988 to 1992 20 Sweet Sixteens (most since 198485) and nine straight from 19982006 27 NCAA tournament berths 79 NCAA tournament wins (most ever) 12 No. 1 seeds 25 conference titles (12 regular season, 13 tournament), 10 of last 13 ACC Tournament Titles 12 30-win seasons 26 20-win seasons Number 1 AP ranking in 16 of the past 27 seasons 9 Naismith College Player of the Year Awards 9 National Defensive Players of the Year Awards 26 AP All-Americans 14 consensus first team All-Americans 11 NBA top-10 picks: T-1st[9] 23 NBA Draft first round picks 907 Career wins ( most wins by a coach in Men's Division 1 basketball) *shrug* Ya can't make that (*)(*)(*)(*) up...
What does Dukes accomplishments have to do with anything? Let's review - you made a ridiculous claim, I refuted your claim with stastical facts, then you change the subject to irrevelant data which was not being discussed or brought into question in the first place. Is that where we're at?
What ridiculous claim did I make? Are you talking about OSU going back to being solely a football school? Sure, it was speculation, based on the fact that y'all were nobody a few short years ago... Anyway, you tried to downplay Duke with those minimal OSU accomplishments, I countered them with a list of ours (which are far more impressive), and you seem to have gotten a bit sore about the whole thing... All this because y'all beat us one time... Pretty funny...
I'm not sore about anything, I'm pointing out your absurd debate tactics. I never once downplayed Dukes accomplishments as a program. I listed OSUs stats b/c of your retarded comment.
