Aramaic was the language spoken by people in Israel at that time. He would not be able to preach to common people if he did not speak it.

If you have a problem with a triune structure just simple take the space all around you as an example. You are able to move in three dimension foreward-backward, left-right and top-down but you are always only in the same space. God father - the allmighty and allknowing creator - is nothing new for you. You can see his words everwhere all around. Jesus Christ is the human face of god - full of love. The best sentence in this context I heard a short time ago: "Make it like god - become human". I'm still amused about this very simple paradox explanation. A wonderful short sentence. Hopefully the english translation is good. And third: The Holy Spirit is the most clear and the most unclear side of god the same time. We know him very intuitive - until we like to explain it. Perhaps I can say in the moment he's as diffcult to understand as the color of a kiss tasting like chocolate. I have the feeling everyone is imagining something different in case of the Holy Spirit - and often something new; forever young he seems to be. Sometimes I have the feeeling he's not even here and sometimes I have the feeling everything is full of Holy Spirit. The best picture is maybe the wind. Yoko Ono sings a wonderful song for children with the text from Christina Rossetti: Who has seen the wind? Neither I nor you: But when the leaves hang trembling, The wind is passing through. - Who has seen the wind? Neither you nor I: But when the trees bow down their heads, The wind is passing by. If someone has wings then the relationship to the wind is in another way as if someoen is a wingless worm - but the holy Spirit is as mighty as the mightiest storm and as soft as the lightest breath. Everyone needs him. The Holy Spirit is like an ocean of the church. I would say in general: As invisible god is - as visible is he. As ununderstandable god is - as understandable is he. ... I'm sure you will find the triune character of god if you like to become a human beings with all sides - including wings. Human beings are without wings? Hmm - a problem now - but fortunatelly god is able to solve every problem. Ask the Holy Spirit for help.

And if you like an explanation more in the traditional way I can give you also the text of the creed I love most - the athanasian creed says:

    -----

Whosoever will be saved, before all things it is necessary that he hold the Catholic Faith. Which Faith except every one do keep whole and undefiled; without doubt he shall perish everlastingly. And the Catholic Faith is this: That we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity; Neither confounding the Persons; nor dividing the Essence. For there is one Person of the Father; another of the Son; and another of the Holy Ghost. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, is all one; the Glory equal, the Majesty coeternal. Such as the Father is; such is the Son; and such is the Holy Ghost. The Father uncreated; the Son uncreated; and the Holy Ghost uncreated. The Father unlimited; the Son unlimited; and the Holy Ghost unlimited. The Father eternal; the Son eternal; and the Holy Ghost eternal. And yet they are not three eternals; but one eternal. As also there are not three uncreated; nor three infinites, but one uncreated; and one infinite. So likewise the Father is Almighty; the Son Almighty; and the Holy Ghost Almighty. And yet they are not three Almighties; but one Almighty. So the Father is God; the Son is God; and the Holy Ghost is God. And yet they are not three Gods; but one God. So likewise the Father is Lord; the Son Lord; and the Holy Ghost Lord. And yet not three Lords; but one Lord. For like as we are compelled by the Christian verity; to acknowledge every Person by himself to be God and Lord; So are we forbidden by the Catholic Religion; to say, There are three Gods, or three Lords. The Father is made of none; neither created, nor begotten. The Son is of the Father alone; not made, nor created; but begotten. The Holy Ghost is of the Father and of the Son; neither made, nor created, nor begotten; but proceeding. So there is one Father, not three Fathers; one Son, not three Sons; one Holy Ghost, not three Holy Ghosts. And in this Trinity none is before, or after another; none is greater, or less than another. But the whole three Persons are coeternal, and coequal. So that in all things, as aforesaid; the Unity in Trinity, and the Trinity in Unity, is to be worshipped. He therefore that will be saved, let him thus think of the Trinity.

Furthermore it is necessary to everlasting salvation; that he also believe faithfully the Incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ. For the right Faith is, that we believe and confess; that our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is God and Man; God, of the Essence of the Father; begotten before the worlds; and Man, of the Essence of his Mother, born in the world. Perfect God; and perfect Man, of a reasonable soul and human flesh subsisting. Equal to the Father, as touching his Godhead; and inferior to the Father as touching his Manhood. Who although he is God and Man; yet he is not two, but one Christ. One; not by conversion of the Godhead into flesh; but by assumption of the Manhood into God. One altogether; not by confusion of Essence; but by unity of Person. For as the reasonable soul and flesh is one man; so God and Man is one Christ; Who suffered for our salvation; descended into hell; rose again the third day from the dead. He ascended into heaven, he sitteth on the right hand of the God the Father Almighty, from whence he will come to judge the quick and the dead. At whose coming all men will rise again with their bodies; And shall give account for their own works. And they that have done good shall go into life everlasting; and they that have done evil, into everlasting fire. This is the Catholic Faith; which except a man believe truly and firmly, he cannot be saved.

Aramaic is a language family and not a single entity by itself. And it wasn't the only language spoken in the region. "Aramaic" from Nazareth was different then "Aramaic" in Bethlem or in Damascus...

The writen version also varried from one region to another.

Also, him being the son of God, and God and having the Holy spirit at his disposition I believe he was able to transcend the language barrier easilly...

I never spoke about the latin language here - you are saying so because you are automatically associating catholics with the latin language. The latin language has lots of advantages - but the new testament was written first in greek language and the old testament was written in hebrew, isn't it? What was written first in aramaic?

Islam was invented years after Jesus & Christianity. I don't think Jesus was the first Muslim if that is what the OP is trying to insinuate.

You could say that Aramaic was the ancestor of the Hebrew language, or at least one of the many dialect of aramaic was. Just like french and english have their roots in latin and greek, the semetic languages have theirs in some form or another of aramaic, plus some other localize dialect and a touch of greek and other ME civilisation and persian influence.

to sum up this thread go to this aramaic lexicon type in: "God".
    or check this wiki page.

    --------

dimensions are a part of creation.
nothing to do with worshiping the creation of Allah (God) almighty.

except the “father” part I agree with you 100%.

that’s where we separtate our ways. Allah (God) does not have an image,
does not need to have one. He created everything you have seen, but
he is not a part of his creation. does not need to be to understand or show
anything. that’s human mind who is incapable of perceiving his eternal master
and easing his mind with an image. sadly getting in the trap of sheitan and
making angels and gods from Allah’s messengers… look at the world’s history,
nothing but idolatry, myths, pantheons and false gods. In every culture you
can see the diversion. the answer of this question should make you
    understand better:

why is it that islam is the only religion with perfect monotheism today?

let me give you an example to elaborate, say you read a wonderful book.
and you really really dig the writer. and your friend comes up one day and
tells you about this writer too. you guys really dig this person, in fact what
he writes becomes your life philosophy. what’s the next thing you wonder
about this person? i’ll tell you what:

    “what he looks like”
    “how he dresses”
“what kind of coffee he drinks”

    in other words, “his image”.

and what is this sequence of channeling yourself to something/someone
and associating the ideas with the image?

    it’s called idolizing someone.
it's insidious yes, but that's the mind set.

same thing happened to jesus (pbuh)…
he was a mighty prophet with great love, tenderness, compassion
and wisdom. but that's it. he guided us all and was one of the leaders
of mankind. but that's where we stop, we don't cross the line. we don't
disrespect our one and only Allah (God).

euzubillah. (I seek refuge in Allah from idolatry)
Allah is so exalted, not human… not human… not human…
    check here please.

look i understand your love towards God.
but you separated attributes of one god (Allah) and distributed
    to made up personas.

Allah (God) is the source of love, he created love, among with compassion
the good inside of us… and everything he creates is perfect, flawless.
but those things you just mentioned are your opinions, and they have
no foundation. not in bible, for instance.

it’s not what we want in our lives, or how we want to see God. it’s what
He wants from us and how He wants us to live our lives.

i agree, there is only one way for salvation.
and it is; not to associate anything with Allah (God) almighty,
facing him alone. and accepting the path of islam, just like
    jesus (pbuh) showed us.

we don’t even know the essence of the souls we bear.
but we figured out how God is?
    listen, this is man-made thinking.

    think of yourself loving.
how wonderful that feeling is... yeah?
now think about the one who created love and put inside of us.

you are trying to understand and categorize Him, split in 3 parts and
    assume job definitions?

think about the one who created this complex universe... us... angels...
    ponder upon this.

“the son”, as you put it, was born.
he is the son of mary.

you cannot make a child understand this.
and unless you can do it, it’s not from God.

for Allah’s (God’s) message is for everyone: for children, for deaf, for blind,
for women, for men, for high iq professors, for sewer cleaners, everyone.

    forbidden?
you just said it during this whole paragraph.
you just held your ear with your other hand, and yelled:
"i am not holding my ear"...

except the “father” part i agree with you 100%.

    “nor created” 
    jesus (pbuh), had a mother.
    her name was mary.

    god and man?

God by definition is not dependent to anything.
man by definition is dependent to God.
one thing can not be two things at the same time.

you don’t have to leave your logic at the door to believe in Allah (God).
    there is another way…
you don’t have to leave your abstract thinking and heart at the door too…

    my brain aches.

nothing is equal to Allah (God).
whoever wrote this did not think it through,
or made it so that at some point you have to realize it’s not the truth… :(

    ok…
let me give you an example of trinity…
would you agree that the trinity is like a chariot that carries 3 persons inside?

all indipendent, have different tasks in the chariot; all going to
the same direction. one father one son and another friend…
all in the same chariot yes?

i will believe you if you show me three chariots with same person on each of them.

    Aramaic of Jesus - Wikipedia

There are different dialects of Aramaic like there are different dialects of Arabic, but they are still quite similar.

Basic Islam (submission to Allah SWT - the one God) has been practiced as far back as the time of Adam and Eve (PBUH). The Quran wasn't sent down until long after, but the basic principle of Islam is submitting to God. A Muslim literally is a person who submits to the will of God. Therefore, all Prophets were technically Muslims (they all submitted to Allah SWT).

But that was not my point of this thread. Non-Muslims in Arab countries also call God Allah, because Allah means God in English. I am not saying everybody who calls God Allah is a Muslim.

Allah is not God in English. Allah is the name of one of the many gods worshipped by the Arabs. The god of rocks. He was chosen by Muhammed to be the god of this new 'revelation' of his.

The God the Christian worships is the God of the Bible. He has seveal names given and allah is not one of them. Sorry.

So tell me.. where were you educated... and how far did you do in school? I am really trying to understand you.

Hebrew is much older, isn't it? Moses and his people were speaking Hebrew.

English has its roots in the german[ic] language and french is a latin language. I don't know why the french (and by the way: also we in our area) forgot our celtic roots and they are speaking a latin language now - perhaps this is because of the roman empire or because of the emperor Charlesmagne. The name "France" refers to his german tribe. The word "England" refers also to a german tribe.

Hmm - interesting. I read one day an article from Christoph Luxenberg (that's a pseudonym of a german scientist). It is very intertesting what he says about the roots of the Qu'ran in the aramaic language.

Well, what a revelation. English is a language in the world.

As I said, allah is the name of one of the gods Arabs used to worship in their 'days of ignorance'. Its doesn't mean 'god' in English. Its a name.

As I said, its the one muhammed used for his new religion. Mainly because it was the one the Quraysh tribe worshipped and they were the leading tribe of commerce. Allah was the god of the rocks.

All muhammed did was use Christianity as a base for his religion, present a religious book, identified allah as the god of it. The Arab people as a result of following this, remain in their 'days of ignorance' and don't know it.

Arabs and muslims need to get out of this ignorance and turn to Jesus Christ.

Response:If islam is a copy of christianity, then it's scriptures would contain the same inconsistencies and discrepancies as the bible, but it does not. That alone would be proof that christianity is not a base for islam. Furthermore, the base of islam also includes rejecting the most significant teachings of christianity, which is Jesus is not God, not a part of a trinity, and was not crucified. So according to your logic, arab christians were inspired to convert to a religion that spoke against their own. That is clearly illogical, as one does not get inspired by speech that goes against their religion. To the contrary, one would only do so if there was evidence that their religion was wrong, and the other religion was correct. Thus the fact that the majority of the arab word reverted to islam during Muhamad's supports the fact they recognized that islam is the true religion, and all praise is due to Allah (swt).

You are correct. The Aramaic word most often used for God was not 'Allah.' Rather the Arabic 'Allah' is a cognate of the Aramaic. Which means that the Arabic 'Allah' was developed from the older Aramaic word. All of this is semantics anyway as what really matters is whether you believe that Muslims worship the same God.

Muhammed used and changed the Bible truths to fit the Arab peoples. He didn't copy them. He changed them. He perverted them. And added the name 'allah' to this supposed new revealation. Which was not from the true God. It's source was either demonic or human. Not God.

The main thing here is you recognize that islam and Christianity do not worship the same God. Your allah is not our God. You can serve your allah all you want. Just don't try and say he is the same as the God of the Bible.

But, you can't. Because muhammed perverted the Bible to build a new religion. Your Ishamael was nothing but a child of a slave woman. A child of bondage. God did not give the Abrahamic promises to the line of Ishamael. In Isaac is the seed called. From whom would come the Jews. From whom would come those who place faith in Jesus Christ.

Come out of your 'days of ignorance' that muhammed has enslaved you to. Turn to Christ as your Lord and Saviour.

Yes. And we who are Christian most certainly do not worship the same God. We worship the One true God of the Bible.

Response: This still avoids the question as to how would Muhammad know what is correct and what is not from the bible. The Qur'an has no discrepancies or contradictions, nor can you prove otherwise. The Bible is full of them. How conveniently you avoid answering the question. Yet the reason is obvious why. Furthermore, the qur'an can be proven as the true word of Allah....hands on. The qur'an itself is miraculous and proven so in the following challenge:

"It is humanly impossible to use speech/literature invented by a person/s that goes against the wants of a mass of people to inspire from amongst them to conquer a nation".

This is the miracle of Muhammad. For the challenge proves that it is impossible to use any speech or literature invented by a person/s that goes against the likes of the people, to inspire enough followers amongst them to conquer a nation. You disagree? Then take the challenge and prove differently. Go and get or create a speech or literature invented by any person/s that goes against the likes of people. After this, try using that same speech/literature to inspire enough followers amongst the people to conquer a nation and see what happens. I'll even simplify the challenge by asking you to just conquer the street you live on and see what happens. You will fail and fail miserably. You won't come close to achieving the challenge. You'll learn first hand that such an act is humanly impossible and that is when you'll learn the miracle of Muhammad. Why? Because Muhammad used the qur'an to inspire enough followers to conquer a nation. So if it is humanly impossible to use speech or literature invented by a person/s, that goes against the likes of masses, to inspire enough followers amongst them to conquer a nation yet Muhammad used the qur'an to inspire enough followers to conquer a nation, then what does that mean? That means that the qur'an in which Muhammad used is not the invention of any human but must come from a higher power and authority greater than humans, and that is Allah (swt). You disagree? Take the challenge and prove differently.

qur'an is far far high from your understanding.

according to you it was written in 23 years, by an illiterate person,
on different occasions, with mixed sequence, not one single contextual
or detail inconsistency in it, with a language and rhythm so perfect
that has set the standards of arabic language, he also knew scientific facts
that have only been discovered in this century.

don't you think you should look in to it more?
    no, right?

    ok let's move on... :bored:

    -------------

here is another point for you to ponder upon:

according to judeo-christian culture jews killed jesus (pbuh),
jews think jesus (pbuh) was a false messiah,
    they mock christians about their beliefs;
    yet you side with them.

you have no problem, them running the show in hollywood,
    in washington, in wall street...

on the other hand, in qur'an mary is shown as the highest of the
women on earth, there is a whole chapter named after her, and jesus
has a very special place and respect among muslims...
    but you are their enemies?

    :mrgreen::-D:)

don't get me wrong i have no problem with anyone
    siding with another. don't be enemies with no one;
just be fair in your judgement.
and think out of the box (i mean tv, and what it says) for a second...

Do you not have the feeling to speak sometimes in empty phrases? You can be sure: Whatever I will do - I will do it my way and not your way. If someone loses his own religion then this can cause very dangerous psycho-socio-logical situations. I heard even from convertits who had to learn 20 years before they became catholics.
