Its astounding to me. I am in a hospital with WiFi and online from my laptop. I hear an evangelical preacher across the hall speaking with a patient. I can hear him or the patient saying, We ought to nuke Iran, that whole country, since they are developing nukes and are a major source of terrorism. What Christians like him need is an Old Testament Jesus. He likes the idea of Salvation, but doesnt like the message. Does he think Jesus would like to see 10 million Iranians vaporized? Would any Christians here like that too?
I have the same issues. Its amusing when people try to convince me that Christianity is the only way, citing all these loving things, then in the end "for the sake of your soul, you don't want to go to hell do you?". Then I shut down and ignore anything else they have to say. I am not a big fan of using fear to convince people that they must believe a particular way.
How do you know he was an evangelical preacher? So you don't know who it was that said it but your blaming the preacher? How do you know he doesn't like the message of salvation? So many questions to this story. It sounds made up almost. Quantrill
Why did you remove words from my quote? Oh, I see, now the preacher was shoutin about hell and Jesus. Before, he was speakin. Sorry, you need to reread your own post. You charged the preacher three times. 1. "what Christians like him need..." 2. "He likes the idea of salvation, but doesn't like the message". 3. "Does he think Jesus would like..." And, no I don't need pictures to sense something wrong with this story. Quantrill
Many Christians believe in the Just War Theory as established by St. Augustine. A nuclear war with Iran may be a just war if Iran continues to build nuclear weapons while simultaneously issuing proclamations that it intends to destroy our ally Israel.
Jesus is also God, and God used violent action in a lot of parts to protect his religion. This isnt about having them nuke you once and then letting them nuke another city, and another. No, they wish to wipe out Judism and Christianity. Plus, nukeing someone is alot more serious than slapping someone.
They would not kill Palestinians or bomb the holy places of the Patriarchs... so don't worry about an Iranian attack on Israel.... unless you just like MEMRI hysteria.
Saint Augustine was a man, and doesn't outrank Jesus, whose message did not include those "just war" weasel words.
how would i be kidding, oh thats right you think its false, while every other country in the world jumps to their feet when they hear about this. I would be very inclined to belive they would nuke the U.S. with all the tension going about. And apparently other people would back that theory up.
Iran has no delivery system for starters, but if they did.. one nuke would be the catalyst for a dozen nukes on Iran. Don't fret unless you just enjoy carrying a spear in someone else's opera.
Transportation? I belive the hamas have missles,um... they could smuggle it in with terrerists. And i dont think the Iranian leaders care what would happen, i think they think they'll go to heaven,or maybe a super-fortiefied bunker.
Then why have they not done it already? Iran is not offering anything that is not already available to terrorist. Mexico does not want them here anymore than us and its true that our border is not secure and that cartels could be an avenue but there is a reason they have not done it yet. Because its far more difficult than a movie.
Hamas "missiles" are lobbed into empty fields.. How many Israelis have been killed by Hamas missiles in the past decade?
I dont know, but put a nuclear warhead on that and things 6 miles away will be destroyed, and radiation will spread all over the place.
Iran has ammited to several enrichment facilities, one which is in a mountain and protected from some serious firepower.
