That's funny about balloons! Yes, I guess they are all scared of loud noises. Awwww little Kelli, she sounds like she was sweet and beautiful. Yup, I think there markings are all so beautiful, none are the same. Every kitty is different. Mine are both indoor cats too, the vet said they would live longer if they were indoor cats. Spyder, that's fine with her (cuz she's the scaredy-cat, so afraid all the time - but a beast too! Molly (our other doggie, she knows not to cross Spyder, Molly is askeered of leetle Spyder hehehe). Forest, he does NOT want to be an indoor kitty. Dodges at the door all the time. We bought him a harness and leash and take him out back when we take the dogs. He pretends the leash has nothing to do with him, doesn't like it AT all. Won't be 'walked', we have to carry him out back, then he hunts through the grass and tries to climb trees.

So funny on trying to stalk the birds, but being seen ... I can picture it in my head! oooo, your mom was prolly mad about that expensive food, yea? LOL Forest will only eat his kitty food, but Spyder is a thief. Cereal, milk, ice cream, cheese, dog food, peanut butter ... lol. Orange juice scares her tho. *snort* she snorts and runs away.

They really do have their own personalities. Forest and Spyder couldn't be more different. Sounds like Kelli and Gracie too. They are our family. Non-pet families don't understand, but we know, they leave a big hole when they leave :tears:

I just saw the pix you posted !!! Awww, she's just the cutiest thing!
Yup, they tell you what they want. Smart little ones, they are.

I posted the article for you. I do have pix, but they are sadly sitting on my desktop that is not connected to the internet. Ya, we're going to network it in, but haven't gotten to it yet! They are both dark ones, Forest hubs calls stripey boy, he has gray and green/brown/black stripes? And green eyes. And Spyder, she has hazel/brown/orange eyes, nutmeg pumpkin specklings in her dark hair, with a white breast bone spot, and a bare belly! But, the most distinctive thing is her face, split in half with an orange lightening bolt - like Phantom of the Opera, or something! I'll see if hubs can help me copy pix off it tomorrow, then upload either from other desktop or this laptop.

I posted the BBC article for you below, I think there was a National Geographic one too, but I couldn't find it.

They are NOT kidding about that purring tho ... Forest adopted us with that purring. We were out walking the dogs, going to the mailbox, and he was YELLING from the woods (that's how he got his name). We thought he was a hawk or something, high up in the trees, maybe. Big big sound. Then this itty bitty tiny kitty, who fit in our hands walked RIGHT up to the dogs. Of course, we picked him up and carried him home!

He was so small, you couldn't tell the sex yet, we thought he was a she. But not so small that he needed a bottle. When we got home, he grabbed a doggie food pellet and, with it IN his mouth, he STILL yelled. (Now we know he doesn't like doggie pellets, lol).

The vet said he couldn't have been outside for more than a day, he wasn't matted, or starved. He just really REALLY likes his food bowl. lmao !!

They are so funny. So different from dogs.

oooo, that is so cute. You are right, memories are the best things we have. Your Gracie sounds just a tiny bit like my Forest. He is such a lover cat, when he snuggles on your shoulder he makes those big hands, open - then close - then again. We call it making biscuits, like he's kneading the dough. LOL The other one, Spyder, she is so scared, she is a scaredy-cat. But, oh, she needs her dose of human love, and she lets you know when. Too bad if you're busy. hehehe. She usually horns in on hubs in the am, when he's in the bathroom :o , and always at night. She's a creature of the night.

I can't wait to see your Gracie, I just know I'll fall in love with her pic. Sounds like she was a real special girl. I am hearing a meow in my mind right now. *giggle*

Did you see the BBC article on cats from last week? I don't know if it was posted, but they had an article about a study they did regarding cats' meows and purrs. They concluded that domestic cats had developed a very successful way of telling humans they needed to be fed, humans whether cat owners or not, could not ignore their asking. They said it mimicked human baby sounds. lol I'll try to find the article for you, if you haven't seen it.

oh, I didn't make a tribute page. I don't remember that they had those then. Just the message board. I made a big, bawling tribute post to Murphy on the boards, and stayed and talked to people for hours. I visited the poem page the most, later on, after the first sadness passed. Chelsea and Bailey weren't mine ... 'cept when they were little puppers. Murphy was a cocker spaniel, black and white, we had her bred back in '92, and the litter arrived in Feb of '93. Five adorable little worms ... well, six, but the runt did not survive. We kept one (that's Pudgie, he's 16.5 right now, gave one to my mom (that was Chelsea), one to my hub's cuz (that was Bailey), and sold two).

When Chelsea passed, I did try to find my sobbing message tributes, but no matter how I searched, I couldna find her :-(. I decided it was okay, I had her memories, and her son still. Plus her pic is in my living room, just a little snapshot :). I always remember her, my hubs and I got her as a Valentine's Day gift to each other our first Valentine's, back when we were shacking up.

It really is ... I swear, I cried my eyes out on the message board. I tried to find them a couple years ago, when one of Murphy's pups (Chelsea, who my mom adopted) went to the Rainbow Bridge, but I couldn't find them. They did have archives from years ago, but I guess that was too long. Maybe I will light a candle for Murphy ... and Chelsea ... and Bailey (one of her other pups, who my hub's cousin had).

No problem. The question was: Would you be offended if your spouse or partner spoke ill of your family? yes, no, I don't know.

It is ... IA. We have four now, including Pudger. Two doggies, two kitties. I thought I remembered it was only updated once a week or so. Let me know when Gracie is there, I want to go find her!

ps ~ couldn't agree more on the term 'furbabies' !

I cried my heart out at that site when my Murphy died in the summer of 2001 ... Murph's son Pudgie is now 16.5, I know he'll go sometime soon. His sister (my mom's Chelsea) went a couple years ago. Is Gracie on the site now, or will it take a few days for her tribute to show up? I'll look for her.

      Yep.
I'm not sure from a medical standpoint what it means next though.
Alice decided to go ahead with them turning off the machines because it seemed there was no brain activity left---and Del always had said to let her go if that happened...I don't know what happens medically now....
