If it's known that the use of cameras has to be requested, and the request wasn't made, I don't see the complaint here...
I guarantee that if it was Fox news trying to push their way in without a permit you'd be hearing the liberals demanding the death penalty.
I guarantee you that Fox News would have gone through the proper channels, and not had this problem... I hate hypotheticals...
DOn't remember if you ever had anything to say about all those "closed door" meeting the president has had for 3yrs? I'm sure I don't remember because YOU DIDN'T. Now as far as this goes, reporters all know the rules...if they didn't follow them, tough (*)(*)(*)(*).
The office of the President and the Command in Chief, regardless of my feelings regarding his politics and positions, must have some meetings that are closed door. In general though I'd prefer an infinitely more transparency in government at all levels. It's a stupid comparison you're trying to make though, this was a PUBLIC meeting, anyone and everyone could show up, it was already being filmed.... but despite this, they had a guy arrested for filming it. I find it pretty revolting that some people don't seem to have any issue with someone being arrested for filming our politicians while they work at a public meeting. Next thing you know the police will be arresting people for filming them [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18ew29IFVHw"]x[/ame]
He can take notes. He can use a voice recorder. He could use C-SPAN. If he wants his own video, he needs to get approval.
I have no party I am an independent conservative. I could not vote this week in Florida because of it
Indeed, he must bow to his masters in order to record the proceedings. God forbid we keep tabs on our elected officials! I'm sure you've never said anything to the contrary... Do I need to dig through your post history?
I thought you said he was filming a documentary, now your saying he was there to keep tabs on the elected officials? Which is it?
The two are mutually exclusive? Clearly a rhetorical question, obviously they aren't. Which begs the question... why bother asking such an asinine question? Oh that's right, you must kiss the party ring, and never speak out against them.
Anyone complaining about this is a fascist pig who puts his personal socialist desires ahead of the welfare of the American people. Of course, I'm being facetious but unfortunately the OP wasn't. Sad.
If it was the democrats kicking out fox news you would be cheering. Have fun living in your hypocrisy and double standard
I sit here and imagine that your avatar actually looks exactly like the changing expression on your face while you answer posts....crazy.
This guy's gotta be some Conservative poster looking to make liberal positions look ridiculous, right?
Actually the only hypocrite here is likely you. You see, unlike you I don't care who is involved, freedom and liberty come far beyond party loyalty for me. It's a shame you and the rest of the sheep won't take off the blinders long enough to see the faults with your own party. I find this hilarious by the way, as you clearly have no idea where I sit on the political spectrum, everyone here who knows me finds the accusation of me being liberal or a democrat absolutely laughable.
What is the issue again? Republicans working within the law to distract from the Presidents total lack of respect of the law? Yeah that is it.
Congressmen having citizens arrested for filming them during a public meeting that's already being filmed. Business as usual!
Sorry, man, but there is a requirement to request a permit to film... Was arresting him a bit much? *shrug* But, he obviously did not follow the set guidelines...
Your assertion here is wrong at best. He asked for permission, it wasn't granted, so he took a chance. They called him on it. Personal responsibility here. He knew the risks and it didn't pan out the way he wanted it to, now he is crying foul? Am I missing something here?
Follow the rules, or go to jail. Seems pretty obvious why we imprison more of our citizens than any other country on the planet... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWeF6lwg4aY"]RT's Adam Kokesh brutally arrested for dancing at Jefferson Memorial - YouTube[/ame] Why again do we need to ask for permission to film our elected officials?
That's why we have rules... And, correct me if I'm wrong, but, don't you need permission to film anyone???
