Yep... there is a difference between praying in school and making a big public show of praying.

well this is hateful and misleading (*)(*)(*)(*)

    Leviticus 20:13

    New International Version (NIV)

13 “‘If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

    Romans 1:26-27

    New International Version (NIV)

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

Ambiguous terminology is being used to determine what and when an individual prayer in school is acceptable. For example: As long as the person (student) praying is not seen by an atheist, then it cannot be considered as a 'distraction'. However if seen by an atheist, then the atheist can deliberately claim that the praying student was creating a distraction. . . thus allowing for the ruling that the praying student was creating a distraction. Ambiguity in laws has, since the inception of the laws of the United States, been a jurisprudential reason for voiding such a law and for naming such a law as unconstitutional. Of course such a law has to be challenged on those grounds before that law can be ruled as void or unconstitutional. Without the challenge, the law is both legal (not necessarily lawful) and constitutional.

[¶ 3] Peterson describes himself as a "devout Christian," who believes that homosexual activities violate the commandments contained in the Bible and that he has a duty "to expose evil when confronted with sin." In response to the posters that read "Gay," Peterson posted two Biblical scriptures on an overhead bin in his work cubicle. The scriptures were printed in a typeface large enough to be visible to co-workers, customers, and others who passed through an adjacent corridor. One of Peterson's postings was taken from Corinthians 10:12. The other featured the following passage from Isaiah:

The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! For they have rewarded evil unto themselves. (Isaiah 3:9)

[¶ 4] Subsequently, Peterson posted a third scriptural passage. This time he chose the well-known and highly controversial passage from Leviticus:

If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be put upon them. (Leviticus 20:13)

The problem is your reading comprehension or your hard headedness. I never said God was American.

I don't know enough about Sabeel to be supportive of them. That Liberation Theology is a turn off for me. Could be one of those atheist psyops you know.

Liberation theology in this case is referring to the teachings of Jesus as they were applied to the Roman oppression in the first century.

That's not how it comes off in their own literature and their goal. So, if they're on the up and up they should be fixing that. As i said though, I don't know that much about them but i'm already turned off.

Then you now understand why the TOS suggests that when quoting from other sources, that you add some personal view of what the quotes are all about, as opposed to the direct quotations and no comment of your own.

I see a lot in your post about employees being fired from their jobs for expressing their religious views. As wrong as you may believe this is, it is not against the 1st Amendment since the 1st Amendment says that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." There is no mention of businesses. Businesses get to play under a different set of rules.

What I really don't understand however, is why homosexuality has become such a hot button issue for Christians lately. I mean there are only a handful of lines in the bible that even mention it. Two of them in a part of the Bible that most Christians tend to ignore anyway (how many Christians do you know eat lobster and pork, shave their beards and wear clothing made from different fabrics?) Heck, Jesus doesn't even mention homosexuals at all.

Isn't rampant greed and hatred a bigger enemy to Christianity than homosexuals? Jesus had a lot to say about those after all.

Not true…why would people of faith want to take down the Ten Commandments and Nativity scenes from public squares..? You are wrong….those who find Christianity vile….want it all gone. And the ACLU works feverishly towards that goal.

Funny that all you can say about, and I have posted a lot of examples…what I have posted is this tiny reply…not touching on any of the examples and cases that I gave.

the hate crimes law is in pass to do what you say will never happen and it already has. It will only get worse.

Free speech is free speech…and no business has the right to stop you from exercising that…or play favorites like many of these companies have. Then to force the doctor to go against his beliefs to artificially inseminate lesbians. A private company who was fined for firing a cross dresser….a printing company that tried to stand up for what they believe was right…..all forced to give in…and then pay large sums of money to those that sued.

Did you read what the gays said about setting all this up? I gave two quotes….go back and read them.

Because they have staged the war….in the past several years have physically attacked churches that speak out on homosexual sex and marriage. Their comments and actions show that they will not stop at anything before even churches cave in and are forced. Do you think the Presbyterian Churches and others changed their policies because they were not getting pressure? They took their eyes off of God to follow what gays want.

Well I am not going to get into a long debate here about the law…but we are no longer under it…and follow what Christ said…and you will not find even one example…of same sex relationships or marriages in the bible which spans thousands of years. Not one. God made Eve for Adam…..and Christ backs it up in the NT.

David and Jonathan. Saul certainly thought so.
Samuel: "do not I know that thou has chosen the son of Jesse to thine own confusion of thy mother's nakedness?" 20:30

Right - no loaw prohibiting the free exercise thereof. So when people are fired for expressing their religious views - its OK. No first amendment rights whatsoever.

Now, if someone fired an employee for being gay or atheist - suddenly its a different story.

And homoesexuality isn't a hot button issue for the religious. It isn't religious people that are upset with the status quo - its atheists. Its coninuously introduced by atheists as a method of saying, "I am better than you because I support gays!" Yet, when we dig into it, most atheists cannot actually explain why they support homosexual rights.

Indeed, 40 years ago, there was no atheist out pouring of support for the homosexual community - at all. In fact, there is no real discussion with any of the atheists I have engaged on this forum about the homosexual community - which apparently gets a white wash.

Well, guess what happens when you get what you want and can no longer dismiss all criticism as prejudice?

I think most atheists need to take a good stock of their positions before they run around accusing others of hatred and greed.

Even if what you are saying is 100% true, it's no different then jew's, muslims or other faiths being punished for thier faith. I hope you have the same concern for those faiths that you do for your own.

When someone is employed "at-will" they lose their freedom of speech when it comes to their job (which is why I'm personally against "at-will" employment). Here is an essay on the matter that explains it.

Now about business being sued for firing someone who is a homosexual/atheist/minority. This is hardly evidence of the criminalization of Christianity. This is evidence of anti-discrimination laws.

So is there a double standard when a employer fires someone for being gay versus firing someone for posting Bible quotes in their cubicle? No. Let me explain.

You cannot fire someone for who they are but you can fire someone for what they say. So an atheist organization cannot fire someone for being Christian but a Christian organization can fire someone for posting quotes from "The God Delusion" on their cubicle.

As for forcing doctors to go against their personal beliefs and perform medical procedures that they don't believe in, let's looks at it a different way. Would you support a doctor who was a Jehovah's Witness that refused to give you a blood transfusion to save your life because it was against his beliefs?

Also, if we have to support every religious belief, does that mean we would have to support cannibalism and female circumcision?

The Persecution of Christians has been predicted in the Holy Bible while the Time of the Great Apostasy. The politically correct Western Governments are working on abolishment or at least on replacement of it by Islam, therefore all True Christians are for them "bigot","morons", "fundamentalist", "fascists", "nazis" etc.
You could be sure already in ten years many True Christians will be sent to Prisons or Concentrations Camps, it is a war on Christians and their Believe.
