Traffic and border waits are horrible here in San Diego. If you are complaining about gas prices and have no job, please stay home and stop complaining. I'm sick and tired of people who just ride the freeways to go shopping or go bike riding. STAY HOME! and leave the freeway to the people like me who have to go to work. I see tons of SUVS, RVS and 4x4s with bikes and cargo going away for the weekends with the whole family. Tons of idiots driving huge trucks that make loud noises and stupid people with expeditions and HUGE cargos. If you have nothing to do, please stay home now because i'm paying 4.15 a gallon. Man i'm pissed. sorry.

It's not our fault gas prices are high. Talk to the commodities speculators.

Maybe you should stay home. If you can't afford to drive to work, why do you bother?

It's normal for higher demand to push gas prices up. Our problem is commodities speculators. Speculations causes oil prices to increase far more than is necessary to spur new production.

We could break the speculators. Everyone agree to not use their cars for an entire week. Of course people will cheat. So we go with plan B, and those who are committed to this all agree to park our vehicles in front of the oil refineries. If we can stop the gas from leaving the refinery, the refinery won't be able to take delivery of new oil, and the value of those oil futures will drop like a lead balloon.

I thought Dodd/Frank was supposed to fix this? I guess the effectiveness of Democrat regulation legislation will be on display for all to see.

Peggy thinks Obama will take care of Peggy.

That's why she voted for him.

But maybe she's just gullible and will not get the government handouts from Der Furher that she was expecting.

Block the refineries. If the trucks carrying the gasoline can't leave the refinery, the refineries won't be able to take delivery of new oil either, and the price of oil futures will plummet, wiping out the speculators.

Frank-Dodd is a joke. The speculators just moved their activities offshore where the law can't touch them. Don't expect any real action from Congress, both parties are corrupt. People need to learn how to take action themselves.

Speculators know that Obama is ruining the US economy and that puts the value of the Dollar in question.

They are just trying to park their money somewhere that it is safe.

    Wrong.

High oil prices are keeping the dollar afloat.

Actually the price of most commodities are up.

Oil is just one of many hard assets that is rising.

That's not the point. When the price of beef rises, we have the option of eating other foods.

Oil is what's called a "non fungible" commodity. There are no ready substitutes. That is why speculators are able to increase the price astronomically.

Works for me, dude. Unless I just wanna hop on my bicycle and go have some enchiladas at Su Casa in La Jolla. Prolly get drunk on margaritas and stagger down to Neptune St. and fall in the ocean. Tough life but somebody's gotta do it. I can understand why there's a lot of traffic on the 5, but why is there so much traffic on the 8? I never understood that.

Sounds to me like someone needs anger management or just stay home. Kind of a simple solution here.

For what ever reason the title of this thread is misleading......

Like Cyprus, where if you register your corporation there, you only pay 3% tax. Or the Channel Islands which have no tax codes, and the multinational corporations virtually bought out the government there. Well, given the endless tax hikes, over-regulation and a global free-trade climate, why is it not surprising?
