Are you saying there is no penalty for fraudulently spending welfare benefits?

To view it as their money is a bit inaccurate IMO. First, they've done nothing to earn it, secondly the money is given conditionally with a specific purpose in mind. Also, we're not freely entitled to it... we must qualify for it. Welfare is not like a certain amount set aside for any American to spend on whatever they want.

The same old crap from the right wing.

Ohhh, it is Obama's fault that long existing programs have long existing problems...

    Or

If we only got rid of the .05% of the budget that is welfare fraud, we would not have the 40% of the budget that is deficit spending.

Sure, welfare fraud does occur, but let's be real about it's significance on the budget. If all abuse of these programs ended completely, it would have zero effect on the deficit or debt. These programs have been around for decades, they are not Obama's creation.

Let me add... If you are a right winger, you are free to become poverty stricken, apply for benefits and then commit welfare fraud if your jealousy of these peoples "free" money is such a big deal for you.

All this thread is is a right wing "talking point" that only takes 2 brain cells to see is really a "talking pointless" in the grand scheme of things.

If conservatives didn't slap liberal hands every time they reached for the cookie jar, we'd be in worse shape than Greece in no time flat.

Yea, those conservatives that passed the largest entitlement program in 30 years when they were last in office.

Read any analysis of where how the budget surpluses in the late 90's changed into the deficits we have today and every one of them show Bush policies more to blame than Obama policies.

I'm a fiscal conservative. I am also just honest and can do math, which means I realize that spending cuts need to go way beyond safety net programs for the poor to be meaningful and that record low tax rates and revenue that is a historic low percentage of GDP can't sustain even a leaner and trimmer government.

Hum drum, I can't be bothered with petty details like that. The government gave them the money they took from us, and unless there is a law saying they can't spend these dollars at strip clubs, then why should I have a problem with it? There is certainly no moral grey area here. But my question stands to anyone brave enough to answer it. Would you give your hard pressed friend money specifically to buy booze, visit sleazy establishments and go on vacation, when you know for a fact he can't or won't pay his mortgage?

Answer it you cowards who think that welfare fraud is ok becuase it is only a little bit.

Personal choice entails exercising personal responsibility, and mooching off the taxpayers is the exact opposite of exercising personal responsibility, which makes your attempt to conflate mooching with personal choice just retarded drivel.

Yes, it can. During the W Bush years there were record high revenues coming in to the Government. The highest ever, in fact. The problem is that spending got out of control, and it got wayyyyy out of control when our current black liberation theology Marxist took office.

You can take every single penny of income and wealth from our richest CEO's and corporations, and it wouldn't pay for our current government spending.

Since you're a "fiscal conservative", enjoy this video

It's all part of the burgeoning, hyperliberal Democrat culture we've got festering in a lot of Denver, all of Boulder, a lot of the mountain communities, and Pueblo. The Conservatives are mostly in southern Denver, and in Colorado Springs. I could go on for paragraph after paragraph about how these liberal bastards have been trying unceasingly to ruin Colorado, jack up our taxes, and look the other way at every lousy scheme and fraud their own Democrat henchmen have pulled. Suffice to say that welfare fraud of ANY kind in this state wouldn't surprise me in the least....

They ruined California. Both them and the illegals. Do you have a 70% Hispanic population in your area like I do?

Problem is that once they blow it, they demand more, and more. If you are on welfare, you should not be wasting the money on strip clubs and gambling.

If you're spending your EBT money on strippers and casinos you don't really require it. It is for food, gas, you know, essentials. Liberals seriously want us to believe they're for balancing the budget by raising taxes but that will just give them more revenue to waste like this.

I wouldn't say its a conservative point of view, just common sense. No one in their right minds could possibly think its okay too get money from the government and then spent it on watching some chick get naked and dance around a pole.

You'd be surprised. It is indeed a conservative point of view. The liberals out here in America view it as a "personal liberties" issue....

Then again nobody ever claimed they are in their right minds.

There could be no welfare fraud if there were no welfare.

Truly, this is one of the mostly eloquently brief but completely profound statements I've ever read. All I can do to honor you is give you a "rep" point, but I will surely do that... thank you.

We still cannot fully realize the crippling harm and seductive evil done to the United States by every hyperliberal Democrat and later, the RINO Republicans, going all the way back to Woodrow Wilson.

The best part is that he said "period" after his fraudulent statement. It makes the pwnage that much sweeter. And the fact that he didn't bother responding to my post?
