Bush was worse...That's what we'd go back to...the GOP and their next failure. Nope...can't do it. "Wouldn't be prudent"

You are clearly ignoring the numbers. But that is typical of libs since you spend most of your lives living in Fantasyland anyway

Obama has more class and decency in his toe than Bush could possibly muster.

You guys are just mad because your side is gonna get blown out, and you're angry. Plus, your party's rich blowhards, will be beaten by a BLACK man....and that what really has the white GOP elitists so very angry.

What a typically ignorant crock of (*)(*)(*)(*).
If dems had gotten their way, we would have been largely weaned off the foreign oil teat by now and driving fuel efficient cars and using alternative renewable and cleaner energy sources today.
President Carter set us on course for all this, but Reagan came in and reversed all of those policies and told us that it was mornin' in America and fossil fuels would last forever.
You have the idiot Reagan to thank for our energy situation and prices today, kid.

A garden is a good hedge against shortages or inflated food prices...

Sure... those who have a sunny spot in the yard can grow tomatoes and cukes, zuccini and onions.

What is confusing is the fact Obama was supposedly a man of the people and yet he has more suits in his administration who had a direct hand in the mortgage meltdown. What has Obama done to confront any issue that is truly facing us. Everything that supposedly he was going to help us with has gone up, food, gas, energy, essentials, and the jobs keep evaporating!

What did Clinton do? What has Obama done?

Besides, I think most of our older forum members might remember Carter' energy policy, long lines at the gas station anyone! You can not wish your way out of oil dependence. I am all for more efficiency, but one has to understand how expensive alternative energy, and fuel efficiency are going to be. Obama talked about 7 dollar a gallon gas not because he hates America per say, but rather thats pretty close to what it will take to make alternative energy competitive.

I wish we could find a cleaner source of energy, but I also understand that in our zeal to find this and if not done in a smart way, many people in this country are going to be priced out of energy consumption.

True enough..but you'll have to build a gun turret and guard it 24/7 cuz once word gets out that you have veggies galore popping out of the ground...you'll be a target for those that thought that the government would be taking care of them, come hell or high water.
I'm sure you'll be planting taters, up there in your own personal Idaho..I would. When those nuclear reactors start melting down ( around 2 weeks after the power grid fails) taters will be safer than those above ground veggies.

I can't believe they actually show their face here blaming the repubs for attacking the president for high gas prices, when they did exactly the same in the Bush years. I know I did.

That's why, really, neither dem or repub parties are for us. They are both the same. They are playing a big corporate, political game and begging us for hand-outs while they play.

New boss, same as the old boss. None of us should be shelling out money to any of 'em.:nana:

Well the way I look at the mortgage meltdown-OBAMA needed some people that understood how we got into the mess-to know how to get us out of it-to get a new cabinet in,that had no idea where to start,I think would have been even more disasterous to our country. Are all the people he kept on innocent-probably not-but it is in my opinion, that OBAMA has ripped a big hole in the corporate greed and corrupt strong-hold-evidence is in the GOP'S blatent opposition in ending the Bush Tax cuts-the protecting of the top 1%-their opposition to closing the tax loopholes.
Perhaps if the GOP were to "help" close the tax loopholes for big oil subsidies-maybe they (big oil) would not be speculating so much( and that speculation = higher gas prices at the pump)But,it is a political tool-it has worked for both sides to paint the opposing party as a bad choice-politicians use the red-meat to garner votes-I feel it is up to the voter to educate themselves on the "why" instead of listening to politicians lie ---maybe before our computer research
age-you could take the politicians word for it-but come on folks-it's 2012-
And speaking of research-we have been increasing jobs for 23 straight months-jobs are not evaporating as you suggest-it is pretty easy to go find those facts-
Hey,I know times are tough for all of us(except the top 1%)there just isn't enough money coming to fix all our country's woes overnight, let alone a year, two years, maybe not even ten years-and then pay down the debt at the same time-I feel we have the right person (President OBAMA) at the helm-what I would like to see,is a whole lot more co-operation on all political sides to do for the American people-instead of their greedy selves.

Mr. Chu's espousal of $8/gallon gasoline will direct public anger directly at Obama and the Democrats.

Democrats, just like Republicans, could care less if they get re elected or not. If they get reelected then they get "donations" from their corporate sponsers which makes them milllionaires.

If they do not get reelected, they go to work as lobbyists for their corporate sponsers, to deliver "donations" to the newly elected members. They get paid even more to do this, so they become even wealthier. The rest, having insider information, make out in the Stock Market.

If anyone still thinks it makes a difference who is elected now, you just keep drinking the coolaid, so that when you get arrested for being a terrorist in the home you have lived in for 25 years, you can blame it on Dems or Reps, and the CIA can LOL as they interrogate you "with enhanced" techniques.

I agree with most of your post except for, "they don't care if they get re-elected or not. " Are you kidding me? These people are ego driven and power mad, they certainly do care if they get re-elected or not. I know Obama would not agree with that, the most narcissistic of them all.

Clinton would have run for a third term if he could have, and it would have been great if he had! He's the only president that has balanced the budget and built up a surplus. And you know why? Because he raised taxes. Remember those bad years, when gas was 80 cents a gallon and high employment was the order of the day? That was the Clinton years.

But go ahead party hack Repubs, deny it and deflect away from it. Now let's hear how good Bush was in his two terms. Let's hear all the facts, about how good it was; gasoline never tripled in price, millions of jobs were created, on and on Bull(*)(*)(*)(*)!

Obama could have raised taxes but he won't because he doesn't have the balls like Clinton does. He's too scared of not being re-elected.

President Clinton raised taxes and still got elected for another four years in a landslide.
