Why do democrats hate republicans when all we try to do is point you in the "right" direction? Helping people is fine and a good thing. Churches teach us that, but they also teach that if you give a man a fish to eat instead of teaching him how to fish, he will despise you. Welfare programs are a good thing in moderation. There are many elderly Americans and disabled Americans that need assistance. They deserve our help. Strong, able bodied men and women should work, or look for work and get a job, not expect the taxpayers to carry them forever. Children are the responsibility of the parents, not the government. Yes, the government schools them...it doesn't babysit them. Make your children study so they don't end up on welfare. Pay cash, don't take Payday loans. If you need a loan, or think you do, go to a bank...less interest paid there. Bottom line, think before acting and then act responsibly. Now who wants to bash me for that?
I don't hate Republicans ... I think every Democrat should have one or two. It's lightens up the day.
Which Democrats 'hate' Republicans? I certainly don't. So your very first point is overly broad and not provable. We happen to disagree with what is the 'right' direction but that is not unusual. I dislike some Republican concepts, and like some of the others. Why do you think people hate you?
Not me in particular, but republicans in general. Why were there thugs at many polling places last election telling people to vote for Obama?
We don't hate Republicans. Hell, most of my friends are Republicans. You seem to have some deluded idea of what liberals and progressives want or believe in.
Hmmmmm...I am a Democrat and I always get along with Republicans (I used to be one). I live in North Carolina and did not see any thugs at my polling place . If there WERE thugs trying to intimidate voters, then they should have been arrested because voter inimitdation is illegal I believe. Try not to lump all of the people in one party together. I used to be a moderate republican, but the extremists in the party caused me to leave and become a moderate democrat instead. I never vote along party lines and will vote for whatever canidate I believe will do the most good. Not all democrats believe in the welfare state. Social programs DO have their place but we need to safeguard them to prevent abuse. I have seen just as many poor/wealthy conservatives ignore their children as I have seen poor/wealthy liberals do. Poor parenting is not dependant on political viewpoints.
I think that you should have your life vision rechecked by a reputable lifoptometrist. You seem to be a bit near-sighted.
Democrats hate. It's what they do. See Rep. Waters and Pelosi, see Michael Moore and Ed Schultz, see Gov.Howard "I hate all Republicans" Dean and Sen. Harry Reid. Hate is what left-wing Democrats feed on.
Republicans hate. It's what they do. See Rep Santorum and Boehner, See Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, See Gov. Rick "I am going to suspend Deomocracy in my state when I feel like it" Snyder. Hate is what right-wing Republicans feed on. See what I did there? I will give you the fact that there are some wing-nuts in the Democratic party that need to get kicked out. However, there is just as much hate-filled vitrol in the Republican party as there is in the Democratic party. I have not heard any liberal stars talking about shooting the President and Sec. of State like I have heard the Conservative icon Ted NUgent. Instead, you see the liberal Lady Gaga escorting gay and lesbian military members to an awards show or calling out for politicians to aid in marriage equality. THere are also an equal number of liberal and conservative entertainers going on USO tours to entertain our troops.
Of course I see. But, did you notice it failed. None of those you listed have said they hate Democrats. None of them scream and lie and spew hatred like Democrats. But, nice try for a Democrat, Navy. See, pity isn't the same as hatred. Oh, find me a citation for that Gov. Snyder quote. It was a quote, wasn't it?
Hate? You want hate? Take a stroll in any thread here on PF about Michelle Obama, a lovely woman who has decided to take on the fight against childhood obesity. A woman who was booed at a NASCAR race where she appeared as part of an event "recognizing our nations veterans and military families to raise awareness of this important issue for all Americans". Now that's hate. How about that right-wing troll who constantly spews trash across the "conservative" radio networks? This disgusting tirade was about the woman who the Republicans refused to allow to speak at their infamous Sausage Fest Contraception hearing. Talk about hateful. This from a guy who got busted with his Viagra coming back from the Dominican Republic, a poor country known for its underage prostitutes.
Thank you, Todd. You're posts speaks volumes about the hatred spewing from the left. I know, First Lady Obama is a lovely woman even if the first, and perhaps last time, she was proud of America was the night her husband was shoved into a nomination he didn't deserve. Keep up the good work, Todd.
It was not a quote, but it is directly from his actions since taking office. He has had an Emergency Management billpassed that allows him to stick EM's into cities and towns as he deems necessary. They suspend all elections, elected officials in office have no power and therefore all democracy is suspended indefinately. Mayors have no power, Town councils can only call a meeting to order and dismiss it. The EM's are basically dictators installed to run local government as they see fit. Also, Most of the people I listed talk regularly about hating the left and Democrats.
I don't hate Republicans and I am a Democrat. I just don't agree that they are pointing us in the right direction. Just because liberals/Democrats don't agree with you doesn't mean we hate you.
I know you're used to living on the Democrat plantation and being Massa Cigar and owning a few people but Republicans generally don't take to plantation life all that well, Cigar. A quote from Howard Dean: "I hate Republicans and everything they stand for. Howard Dean" Read more: http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/h/howard_dean.html#ixzz1oMACb9r5
Wasn't there a Hollywood movie about the killing of Bush, yet not a peep from those loving tolerant dems! Maybe nugent would be more tolerated he had made a movie instead of using words
I wish I still had the link, but there was a very recent study that suggested that outside of Washington most people who have differing party affiliations not only get along, but also find a lot in common in their beliefs. I think that the mood in our capital (and many state houses) along with the media portrayal (from ALL angles left and right) of this, along with the anonymity of the web, makes us exaggerate our differences. My guess is that if people on this board - even those who vehemently disagree and seem to "hate" one another, actually went out for a beer or a meal, they'd not only find a mutual respect, but also a lot in common.
That's a bit arrogant isn't it? Especially after it's been pointed out more than once already that democrats don't all hate republicans, making you... well... not correct.
This is true...I find a couple of people disturbing, as they do me. I try to point them in the right direction and their answers are like little jabs, so I respond in kind. A beer would help, but a bit of Markers Mark would be better.
I don't always believe everything I hear. I would be a fool to do so. Am I arrogant? Perhaps, but not as much as my president. I never look down my nose at anyone.
