Are you listening to what people say about homosexuals? Have you seen what they do (even politically)?

Most with Conservative political views, especially those with little regard for the middle class and the poor, cannot reconcile those views with the teachings of Jesus Christ. They fool themselves into thinking that they are so "right" and that "God" is on their side. :(
Depending upon who is wielding the "Word of God", it can be interpreted in various ways for any number of reasons.

I think those who do best with the Bible, turn their thoughts toward making themselves better as individuals; then they have a living example to present to others. Those who take the Bible as a law book full of rules to be IMPOSED upon other human beings, to me are a curse in this world.

What are you talking about? Jesus wasn't talking about a theocracy, he was telling the Jews that it was perfectly lawful for them to pay Roman taxes. How do you get support for a theocratic government from that?

There is a HUGE difference between Poor and lazy: 2 Thessalonians 3:10. Jesus called the lazy, wicked in Matthew 25 parable of the 10 virgins. Christians are the most charitable group on the planet, we are always helping those that wish to raise above their situation. However, there is NO room in the kingdom for those who would be lazy and not work if capable. Charity is out of the heart and for those who would use it to become better. Here is what the bible teaches about lazy people who don't work:

2 Thessalonians 3:10 ESV -For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.

Timothy 5:8 ESV -But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Proverbs 24:30-34 ESV -I passed by the field of a sluggard, by the vineyard of a man lacking sense, and behold, it was all overgrown with thorns; the ground was covered with nettles, and its stone wall was broken down. Then I saw and considered it; I looked and received instruction. A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man.

Jesus said in Matthew 25:26-30 ESV - But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest. So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Proverbs 21:25 ESV -The desire of the sluggard kills him, for his hands refuse to labor.

Proverbs 20:13 ESV-Love not sleep, lest you come to poverty; open your eyes, and you will have plenty of bread.

Thessalonians 3:11-12 ESV -For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies. Now such persons we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living.

Genesis 2:15 ESV -The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.

Ephesians 4:28 ESV -Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need.

What are YOU hearing? See.....I think that homosexuals are so sensitive that they can't accept or digest the fact that some people believe:
    1) Homosexuality is a choice.
    2) Homosexuality is against God's plan
    3) Homosexuality is not equal to heterosexuality.

Suddenly the above turns into "kill all gay people" to the hyper-sensitive homosexual.

One cannot believe something that is factually correct without being labelled a moron.

Destruction of your culture? What an absurd suggestion-unless you can explain how homosexuality might contribute to this 'destruction'? BTW, homosexuality is NOT 'promoted'. Again, some references would be a good start.

    1) Did you choose heterosexuality, and at what age were you aware that you had made this decision?
    2) Nobody cares about 'god's plan' except god nutters. Irrelevant.
    3) Yes it is, if you're gay.

    Thanks for your opinion.

the only people that believe it is a choice is bi-sexuals, as they can not understand why everyone doesn't have the same choice they do

Also prisoners of both sexes who are gay for the stay and college and high school age girls where to be lesbian has become the new fad. Not to mention feminists in academia that believe women can choose either way---male , female or both--according to her desires at the time.

Do your own research and find out.

That would indeed make you foolish. I think you confuse awareness with sensitivity; learn the difference. By the same token, there are some 'racists' who think that certain 'minorities' are "sensitive"... when in reality they are ready and saying, "never again".

They are HUMAN, just like you. They know closed-mindedness when they see it; also fear, hatred and bigotry. If they do not tolerate it as far as you would like, you must deal with it.

    Not proven; and is unlikely.

Not provable at all; it is a matter of belief on the part of all who embrace the thought. Not to mention that loads of subjectivity are weaved into virtually any religious belief. People have a right to their religious belief(s), but no right to IMPOSE them upon other human beings.

That means nothing here. People have rights and equality; those aren't measure with gradients derived from one's sexual-orientation. If anything, our laws are based mainly upon Constitutionally-influenced definitions of freedom and liberty. Sexual-orientation is hardly valid legal a reason to discriminate (in most cases).

Nothing concerning anything I've opined about, pertains to what is or may be (somehow) 'sudden' as you suggest. None of these discussions/arguments are 'new', no... not at all. Now, it is TRUE that homosexual people are far less 'tolerant' of the kind of irrational animus and social-slander that you and many others prefer to propagate in this era, but that should be neither surprising nor particularly unusual (considering the last few decades). No, there is no OVERNIGHT sensation going on or being expressed here. (Get real, please.)

Considering all, homosexual people have good reason to fight (the kinds of things you and others communicate), and are also determined to be persistent (for a lifetime if necessary) about the same.

Of course it does. To the ignorant religious idiots on this forum.

They are viewing the bible, that it some how explains modern existance. There is no reasoning with that sort of perverted belief.

    This.

Except I would have said Neo Conservatives enjoy espouting the OT, because Jesus is everything they are not, therefore, he is seen as a nuisance.

I agree, bisexuals feel free to admit they are bisexual, they no longer have to hide in the closet, they are the only ones able to make a choice, is that a bad thing, no, is that a bad thing to be free to be who you are?

The Bible and indeed all religion teaches that its the responsibility of both the individual and society as a whole to take care of its poor and needy. How to help them is for the society and individuals to decide.
In the US, we believe that democracy is the best system. When we want to do anything that involves individuals and society as a whole such as building roads or defending the nation, we look to the government for it because we know the government can do it best. How is it done? By collecting taxes. When it comes to social welfare, an equally important task, should we not look at the same organization for distributing it effectively?

You agree that we need to give charity and to help out the poor and needy so that no person goes hungry on US soil? The best system that we have would probably be the army, a government organization and funded by tax. Similarly, when we look at a system of providing Social welfare / charity effectively, should we not use the same system because we know that democracy is the best system and no other system could distribute the funds for charity to all those in need of it as effectively.
You could argue that it should not be included in tax but should be separate from tax so that it does not end up getting used for government extravagances or provide other benefit to someone else. But then, the RW problem is not with the other systems (they are keen to spend and spend on the military), but their beef is with the social welfare system which they call akin to theft.

So yes, I see a clear paradox. The Bible teaches social welfare yet the RW call it theft.

If homosexuality is against God's plan, then why would he make them to be born gay?

Is it not obvious that makes zero sense?

I wouldn't call pedophile being God's plan. Yes some people are born that way. Some are born mentally deranged. Some are born physically handicapped. Everyone is born to their own difficulties in life.

We are not talking about pedophiles. We are talking about people being born homosexual.

God is perfect, whatever happens must be a part of a plan.

Unless of course you are contradicting yourself.

Being born homosexual I can argue is similar to being born a pedophile. So its quite relevant.

Yes, God is perfect yet there are untold miseries in the world. They are all part of the plan. That's where the concept of Hereafter comes in. If life was to be like Heaven, there would have been no reason for this life. God could just have sent everyone directly to Heaven.

    It depends on the Catholics...

Some Catholics are very socialist (like in South America), while others are very capitalist (like a lot of white Catholics in America).

Socially, they all tend to be conservative, but economically, there's quite a variety.

So it is a part of God's plan.

I am glad you took the long way around simply conceding the point.
