Sure. Why wouldn't a company do that? They're a business trying to sell a product. They're not going to sell product if their customers are pissed.

Facebook, unless I am wrong, has decided to provide the Federal government with information and therefore I no longer consider them a purely private entity. However, if I am wrong and they don't sell out information for data mining and surveillance then no harm, no foul. Go ahead and censor to your heart's delight as far as I'm concerned.

They can censor whatever they want to. They're private companies.

"Freedom of speech" only applies to the government.

Technically yes, but that doesn't mean one can't expose unfair practices. When you have multinational multi-billion dollar corporations that are almost a monopoly, heavily cooperate with the federal government and shares people's information with them as well it becomes a blatant example of typical Christian persecution that has existed for centuries.

You have GOT to be kidding me!!

It has a registered domain and an owner - it can be bought and sold

You can google the stats yourself and even, in all probability track the owner but I will not post that information or even how to do so on a public board

They are privately owned companies and can do what they want.

The persecution complex of religious radicals is hilarious. Some of you need to untuck your balls from your taints.

Are they not private companies? If so, they can censor whoever the hell they please. Its funny, the conservatives here will defend a Christian businesses right to discriminate, but they hate it when they themselves are discriminated against. Doesn't feel so good, does it?

Free market capitalism. I thought this was what you guys wanted? Corporations that can do whatever they want. "Corporations are people." Remember? Why do you want to tell "people" what to say?

Christians who spew hate, aren't really Christians. They just use faith as a mask for insecurities and uncomfortability, and most of all, Fear.

Its not persecution if people are against actions that aren't christian. Its a rebuke of hate, not of Christian values.

No. I said the values of which people are protesting, aren't of the christian faith. I don't consider it a religion of hate personally (having spent the first half of my life immersed in it). I find the way people twist it to suit their own fears and prejudices to be hateful.

You can "strictly adhere" and keep it to yourself............

In other words, no you cannot use THAT as an excuse for spouting hate speech

But feel free to point out the paragraph in the bible that says "Thou shalt make they fellow man feel like he is worthless"

    Romans 10:10-17 ESV / 77 helpful votes

For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? ...

But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,

On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. Genesis 1:1 ESV / 15 helpful votes

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

    1 Peter 3:18-22 ESV / 13 helpful votes

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison, because they formerly did not obey, when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water. Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him.

Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. ...

He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury.
