    Is anyone surprised????

The votes were sharply divided along partisan lines with all Republicans voting for and all Democrats voting against contempt.
The measure now moves to the full House for a vote.

Don't you just love this sh................

Where it will go to the Senate and promptly dismissed as a shameless political ploy.

The public doesn't deserve to know operational details of any DOJ operations.

Way to put your pathetic racist spin on this.

    Yes I do!

    .

Now you know how the rest of non-Democrat America felt before November 2010 as we watched helplessly as the Democrat Camelot methodically destroyed our country unopposed in Washington D.C. with no checks and balances whatsoever. What goes around comes around!

I have some very unhappy news for you.

No action in the senate is required.

The House of Representatives is fully empower to convict Holder of Contempt and even arrest him if it so chooses.

    Bummer, huh?

It is up to the House to turn it over to a prosecutor or not; but if Holder IS found in CONTEMPT, by the FULL HOUSE, he CAN BE CRIMINALLY PROSECUTED.

Oh that will be so interesting to see all the dirt he dishes on Obama then. This whole incident highlights the idiocy of Obama as well, if he was as smart as everyone said he was he would have found a way to lay this all on Holder anyway.

I'd have to agree, if the man was truly a team player he would have taken one for the team by now and quashed this whole thing. He should have made a deal for immunity taken all the blame and resigned long ago.

Yep. This would have been resolved already, and Obama wouldnt be looking at this bad press so close to Election time. Arrogance probably assumed he'd get away with it. the same Arrogance that Obama is showing by refusing to cooperate.

I dont think a story about Romney and a Donut is going to be enough to sweep this under the rug.

Invoking executive privilege was Obama's death knell. The Bushification like tendencies of Obama recently are unnerving to me. No way I can vote for Bush III.

I only regret that congress may reveal secret intelligence. into the public domain. Where anyone including crime-lords can get though a FOIL request. I'm afraid it will lead to deaths of any spies we set up. So much for the leaks scandal. This takes the cake.

Stupid question, but could Mexico sue us for this if it is proved that Obama was involved?

House Oversight Committee Finds Eric Holder in Contempt in Fast and Furious Investigation
    Posted on June 20, 2012
    by Jason Howerton

After hours of deliberation, members of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on Wednesday voted 23-17 in favor of holding Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress.

Not even an eleventh-hour move by the Obama administration to grant Holder executive privilege concerning “Fast and Furious” documents could prevent the committee vote as Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) and other lawmakers pushed forward in their pursuit for the truth in their investigation into the failed federal gunrunning operation.

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) introduced an amendment, which passed, that made sure that the record stated that the committee was aware of Obama’s decision to assert executive privilege and they proceeded with the vote anyway.

A contempt report is ordered to be given to the U.S. House of Representatives for their review, Issa said.

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) announced in a press release shortly after the vote that the measure will be voted on by a full House next week. Lawmakers will be back on Capitol Hill on Tuesday.

“While we had hoped it would not come to this, unless the Attorney General reevaluates his choice and supplies the promised documents, the House will vote to hold him in contempt next week. If, however, Attorney General Holder produces these documents prior to the scheduled vote, we will give the Oversight Committee an opportunity to review in hopes of resolving this issue,” the release said.

Well, the ball is now in Holder's court. He's got until Tuesday to decided.

That would only splash more blood on Holder's and Obama's hands, since Fast & Furious was their baby. Whoever is exposed while out in the field as a result of the Obama Administration's lying to Congress will not be Congress' fault.

Arrogance doesn't make people completely stupid, this goes a little further, it really is amateur hour at the White House, conservatives have been saying the same thing since this story broke, IT WON'T GO AWAY! What were Obama's advisers thinking letting this get this far? Its actually offensive to see such stupidity in the highest levels of government. Granted I wasn't expecting much from ultra-libs, but I really did expect more than this...

    Don't forget the prancing horses...

On the flip side, at least the Obama presidency is maintaining its historic legacy, nothing like the first ever vote for contempt of Congress by a sitting AG to keep that ball rolling...

They're just paying to see the next card.

If it looks bad for Obama after that the Dem rats will fold their hand pretty fast.

They won't risk it all for Obama.
