If you don't think corruption can be ended, then why are you wasting time here?

I am here, because I have an undying belief that corruption can be ended. I laid out a plan and I am putting out speeches to try to reach out to people. I see some here just bashing left and right insulting one side of the testicle. is your solution really to re elect Obamney? or you have no solution? describe as briefly and as clearly as you can what your solution to corruption is DON'T just say "get rid of Obama or make sure Romney does not get in, be more precise

    I put it this way:

You move to a new neighborhood. A small community with its own community council. Now, your house is sandwiched between two others, both owned by burglars that regularly burgle from you and the community. Knowing this, you have three choices:

    1) Ignore them, even though you get burgled too.
    2) Convince the community council to kick out one of the burglars and have him arrested.
    3) Have both burglars expelled and arrested and invite new, trustworthy people to move in.

    Which is the wisest option?

While it would seem that #3 would be the best choice today's reality is more like that the community council stays in office because of the campaign donations made by the burglars and the burglars own the local news paper.

Now how do we correct the situation? The community at large, getting all their information from the paper think the burglars are "job creators" and the community council refuses to act on the burglaries while they concentrate on deficit reduction.

Corruption can be ended very easily...

1; Ban all special interest money in politics, including...corporations, unions, churches, and others groups (such as the NRA, and Planned Parenthood). This would include the banning of all PAC, since a PAC is considered a private organization.

2; Require full disclosure for all funding giving to a candidate. Any private gifts from special interests will result in the disqualification of the candidate from a campaign, and possibly their arrest for violating election law. It would also result in fines for the special interest who gave the illegal gift.

3; Let the parties raise money for their candidates (up to 1 million dollars) , but make it so they must give an equal part of that funding to everyone running.

4; Give the people the right to vote a politician out of office with a "vote of no confidence".

Well you'd also need a law forbidding legislators from making capitol investments. When dealing with the very wealthy a private conversation can be worth millions.

and you'd need to add all that to the constitution so that whatever party you elect to enact these policies didn't just gradual change them once they realized they could.

Obviously 3, but I am still waiting for you to answer what is the term we should use to refer to the burglars?

    "Fascist" should suffice.

You might never completely stamp out corruption, but there is simple formula for greatly attenuating it: Attenuate government power.

I don't think I can live forever, but this doesn't mean I just kill myself. Political corruption could be (perhaps only temporarily) halted by getting rid of government, but that notion isn't really popular yet.

But as I said, I'll repeat, we can't live forever, but that's no reason to commit suicide. If that makes any sense.

The less government, the less corruption. :)

Well no you do reach a point where less government means more corruption. If you look at the most corrupt nations. They are pretty much a mix of hyper authoritarian countries, and countries that are close to anarchy.

Without going into another line of argument, I was mainly referring to political corruption.

That's an excellent question that I don't have an answer for. Good luck. I hope someone's got a good one.

Corruption can be ended with an informed electorate. Good luck with that...
