In 1987, I came as an immigrant to America from USSR. how much I admired the United States, and president Reagan, can not be over stated. I remember talking with my father how most Americans underappreciate this nation, possibly because they were born here, and haven't tasted an oppressive regime, I was very excited to visit capitol building in Washington, proud of American flag, I remember talking with my dad about how American flag had the nicest design of all flags, not just some colors thrown together, I was 100% behind USA kicking Saddams ass after he invaded Kuwait...

Then I learned the language better, started paying attention to what politicians are saying and doing... internet came out...

Now, 25 years later, I have absolutely zero respect for American system. I have more respect for Iranian government now. is it my lack of knowledge about them? what is it that changed my views? I was not on welfare all these years, I have always worked for living.

America used to be a great country before corporate interests ruined it. It's just one giant Walmart now and people's futures have been sold off for profit by the Romneys, the Bushs, and other criminals. Don't hold all American people in contempt for this evil....just the super wealthy corporate entities that still continue to further destroy what is left of America at this point. Romney gets in.....we're completely sunk. All bets are off if that happens. Take cover and hunker down. The end will be very near.

I think you have joined the mass of Americans who underappreciate their country. Its puzzling though---because usually that comes from a generation spoiled and clueless.

Since you came from an oppressive country----and now show more support for another oppressive country---perhaps you ought to outline your specific issues.

You disrespect your country because you disagree with our intrusion into Libya? I disagreed with it too....thought the whole thing was a big mistake.

You can still respect a country, its values and freedom and appreciate its opportunities regardless of a mistake or miscalculation. No country or government is perfect.

Surely there must be more issues going on.

Maybe you're like most Americans when they become teenagers and end up hating all the things they loved when they were children because it reminds them of when they were happy or because it reminds them of their father.

You're going to have to give examples of when your opinions started to change for us to give a real assessment.

Mistake can happen once: Libya, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Serbia. all of these indicate it was not a mistake, but standard policy of bullying.

    Values no, opportunities yes.

Started with Bill Clinton taking credit for collapse of the soviet union in his state of the union address around 1997, followed strongly by US involvement in Serbia, Iraq, Afghanistan, bullying of Iran, bailing out banks and auto industry, funding despots in Pakistan, Turkey, Israel, bombing of Libya, funding terrorists in Syria.

You thought we were a bully to invade Afghanistan? (*)(*)(*)(*) right we were. Sounds like you are just anti-American as a matter of policy and will simply put America's security issues as last on your list of priorities.

Perhaps there is another country you might be happier in?

Okay. That's the final piece of the puzzle. Go on...

The truth comes out forum members. Now we see who we are dealing with. Good luck with your new life in Iran. I think that is what is best for all of us.

When Reagan was about to quit being President, he said, "This has been the greatest acting role of my career."

He was acting from the time they shot him to the day he left the Presidency. Until you know what caused him to be an actor instead of what he intended to do, you don't know what's going on.

Getting shot caused him to submit and become an actor?

Always interesting to see the left/right come together to condemn someone who's against their circus, that INDEED shows your true colors

    Your posts seem clueless.

At the time---the left and right was both in support ofinvading Afghanistan. Perhaps you were the lone wolf out there----not wanting to bully the country giving shelter to the terrorists behind the killing of 3000 Americans. Perhaps coming from Russia...you didn't give a (*)(*)(*)(*).

Perhaps Iran is a better place for you.

I am not holding all Americans in contempt for this, just like many rich are ignorant, so are many poor, other wise, instead of Obamney we would have a president and congress representing the people right now, rather then elites.

Last I remember America was funding Hussein Obama Bidens in Afghanistan to fight Ruskies, and your leftright party is always "in support of" serving the elites, what else is new?

You know what? You bet on the wrong horse. You came from under an oppressive regime so your focus, after came to America, was shifted to appreciate how "benevolent" US regime is/was.

It wasn't the government that makes a country great, it was individual people. You should have counted on yourself other than a system or a government.

There is an old saying "Where there is freedom, there is my home."

Born in American really isn't no bless, it is more of a curse these days.

Move to Singapore or Hong Kong if you could, hard working is still valued there.

They keep insisting you leave the US friend...why don't you agree if they'll escort you to your homeland, and take them hostage somewhere. Cut their heads off or something, then sheet on them. Ship 'em back FEDEX.

It made him do what he was told to do and put on a good show for those who thought he was going to fix anything.

Kennedy didn't do what they told him, and they killed him. Nixon disobeyed ant they got him thrown out, and poisoned him later.

Moral of story is do what they tell you to do if you like being President.

How many times have we heard the world condemn us for backing oppressive regimes in the Middle East? Here we are, got rid of the ones in Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan Kosovo and backed the over throw in Egypt. All oppressive dictators and we still get blamed. Even threw Iraq out of Kuwait so those people got their country back. Now these people are free.

After WWII, all the nations we liberated, we set free, unlike Russia did. S.Koreans are free. We can't be all bad.

America get rid of s.o.bs that start to think for themselves, replacing them with s.o.bs that are suck-ups to America.
