I had problems with racism when I was in the Army. I shared a room with a black dude in Germany. Our two sides were separated by standing wardrobes that created a pseudo-wall. I don't know if he just forgot I was there or didn't care, but when he and his friends got together, everything was about race... white boys this, crackers that, white boys talk (*)(*)(*)(*), blah blah blah. No question about it, we have a problem with racism in the military.

I was in the US Army in the 80's myself. Now what was the ratio of black soldiers to white soldiers in the 80's? Exactly what kind of unit were you in that you were cleaning toilets and black soldiers watched you do it?

Lying? Nah, it's true. When I was in, we had a black sergeant that handled getting the urine samples. Back then in Germany, most of us smoked hash. If you were a white boy, he'd sell you clean (*)(*)(*)(*) for $20. Black guys got it for free.
Now how do you know he was giving it to the black soldiers for free? Was he the Drug and Alcohol NCO?
I was stationed in Germany in the 80's and we did have a black first sergeant who favored the black soldiers (they were all part of some black only Mason sect), but I didn't think the issue was that widespread. I just thought it was that particular first sergeant. Otherwise, I can't say that I saw or noticed much in the way of racism in the military. As far as I could tell, there just wasn't a lot of that going on, unless it was kept pretty close to the vest.
Crap, you got me. It was mostly based on race. But this one time he gave me and this other black dude clean (*)(*)(*)(*) for free. I think they called it being the CDAC NCO? Anyway, he was pretty cool, have no grudge against him.
Wait, WHAT? Lightning bolts, skulls, and EAGLES? NORDIC WARRIORS? Those are all pretty common tattoos. And BARBED WIRE?! That's even MORE common! Heck, my uncle's Army tattoos include barbed wire (a cannon emplacement), an eagle (over a US flag), and a lightning bolt. My wife's boss has one tattoo that has an eagle AND a lightning bolt! (He was in the 101st Airborne.)
The republicans cause this, they get us into wars, and then we face a shortage of manpower in the military leaving us to give out moral waivers. That means we need the racists, and gang members, to fight for those corporations.
