The UN is proposing a tax on wealthy nations to redistribute the wealth. Sorry but there are certain countries that will never evolve no matter how much money you give them. I say move the UN to Iran. If we had appropriate global tax treaties, which ensure that companies couldn't route money via the Camen Islands, Luxembourg and Switzerland, to avoid tax on money made in each country, this wouldn't be needed. But as it stands, that's what's happening and all of our countries are losing fair tax revenue. Companies crying about this are simply the companies abusing global tax loop holes, which is pushing our countries into debt, after all they use the services (roads etc...) in our countries, then opt to pay tax in countries where they have 1 office with 1 person working there. And yes, I'd like a better source. Who in the UN has brought this up? It reminds me of the other thread in which two countries "suggested" banning blasphemy, SUGGESTED, and all the GOPers got their knickers in a twist again.
The UN is not only incompetent but openly anti American. I can see no reason at all why we should not withdraw and stop funding it. We have a tendency in the U.S. to want to support our enemies. I've never understood it.

He forgot to add banks as the problem as Thomas Jefferson predicted to be true. The UN is just as useless as the League of Nations was.
And there are certain countries which can't evolve because they are exploited by a western dominated market; for example many African nations. And Iran is too useless to be part of the UN, let Sloane host it.
I'm all for it. I don't like the concept of organizations which centralize power and chip away at sovereignty. I don't like the idea of a global organization calling shots for us, steering us this way and that. As far as distributing wealth to poorer nations, why not simply make it an option to donate when filing taxes?

Time to kick the UN out of the US. I concur. Wholeheartedly. The United Nations, much like most labor unions, had a great and noble purpose many years ago, but have outlived their usefulness. Both have become political cesspools of uselessness, avarice, and greed. I firmly believe that the United Nations should move their operation to a truly neutral location; The South Pole. .
