The good / bad president is a totally different argument IMO. ( I dont think he has baan a great president, but not a bad one either. And I do think he will do a better job than Romney. I dont think hes the worst. Id say Bush Jr, or Grover Clevland, but this will always be a matter of opinion. )

I think many people hate him simply for pure ideological reasons, and will do or say anything to villfy him, even if they know its a lie. It doesnt matter to them, as long as they can denegrate him.

See, I don't agree. I feel both Bush II and Obama would really like to do the right thing for the American people but Bush was caught up with 9/11 and Obama with the housing bubble crash. You can find many faults with both of their approaches but to malign either with nefarious impulses is just wrong.

It's sad; but we'll be okay as long as we strive for the broadest range of Americans to participate in the political process. That looks a LOT more like the Democratic Party than the Republican Party; and I hope that changes over the next 50 or so years.
