Its not a right-left thing, its an authoritarian-libertarian thing. Socialism (authoritarian) requires a police state in order to redistribute wealth.

 

Authoritarianism has nothing to do with the left. It's solely an extreme right wing concept in that it suppresses individualism.

 

Learn the political spectrum. Its not 2 dimensional. Both left and right can be authoritarian.

Socialism suppresses individualism for the good of the community. A dictator from the right can suppress individualism for the good of himself. Go do some reading.

True, but you have to be willing to see it through to the end. Saying "no" to a cop or challenging his authority gets his attention, and sometimes not in a good way. As shown in the video, some cops will take the lack of submissiveness/co-operation as suspicious enough to warrant further investigation/detainment.

There is also this audio recording of Steven Bierfeldt who was detained by TSA for traveling with $4,700 in cash. Bierfeldt works for Ron Paul and was returning to DC from a Ron Paul event.

The TSA guy - and TSA is not LE - is supposed to screen for weapons, explosives that are threat to the aircraft. The cash was in a metal lock box which was opague in the x-ray machine, TSA had every right to ask that the box be opened. As soon as TSA saw it was cash and not a weapon/firearm, TSA authority ended. There is no law against traveling with large sums of cash. People carry cash, diamonds, coins, valuables etc as carry on all the time because the airline & airport are not liable if it is in checked baggage and it "disappears".

Bierfeldt handled this masterfully. The SCOTUS has ruled that TSA must explain the law if a person asks for assistance or clarification although I dont know if Bierfeldt knew that.

If I am DRIVING, a driver's license and insurance are REQUIREMENTS to operate a car. Quite reasonable requirements, and asking for them is reasonable.

But I am NOT driving the airplane, so there is NO reason the government needs to know who I am or where I am going if I am not entering the country.

With people who casually give up their freedoms to unknown strangers, who needs outside enemies?

 

Great example of why you don't say a word to the police without a lawyer. You see how he let just ONE answer slip and they ran with it and threw accusations?

He let it slip that the money didn't belong to him. Suddenly the questions became "DID YOU STEAL THAT MONEY?!" There is never a time where talking to the police is a good idea unless you are required to do so by law.
