Payback time? Israelis wonder what Obama victory will mean for Netanyahu

Christianity was established right after the ressurrection of Jesus Christ. Read the Book of Acts in the New Testament.

Be careful. There are people here that will tell you only the Catholic Church is "true christianity" and that wasn't invented until Constitine and the Council of Nicea some centuries after said ressurrection.

But I got no dog in that fight. But my readings, I seem to recall, that the first messianic sect, after the so-called resserrection, were the Qumrans. They believed that "James the Just" was the Christ, if memory serves me correctly.

 

I don't care what anyone says. If they are going to argue Scripture of when Christianity began, then a study of the Book of Acts is required.

Historical documents differ as to the name of the man we all refer to as Jesus Christ.

Some records record him as Y'shua Ben Panthera, the son of a Roman Soldier who took Mary for his own (as they often did.)

Some record him as being J'shua Ben Yahweh.

Truly, I don't have a clue as to WHAT his real name was.

Christ is Greek for "Annointed One". The Greek word for Messiah. Jesus the Christ. Jesus the Messiah.

What difference does it make?

Jews reject Jesus as the son of god and as their messiah.

It is not even up for debate, to be honest.

Yes, Messianic Jew, blah blah, but they are hated, and seen as missionaries, trying to get Jews to convert.

Christians believe that the only way to heaven(sic), is through belief in jesus as being the son of god, and doing his will.

I'd also tell them they couldn't have the huge symbol of war, the Menora at the White House, this Christmas, and have a big Christmas tree instead, in the spirit of peace and goodwill....

 

Bibi is neither Arab nor Muslim, so I doubt he'll be insulted by that picture showing the soles of Obamas shoes while being on the phone with him. He may have felt insulted by some of the contents of the phone-call though. Let's hope he was.

 

Will Obama bomb Iranian nuclear program into the stone age now that he is not restrained by future election prospects? What seems to escape you is the fact that while Obama may payback Bibi (neither republicans nor dems in congress will let him go too far though) he has far more reasons personal and political to "payback" Ahamdinejad and the mullahs.

And yeah, Obama will veto the Palestinian recognition again. Do you seriously have any doubts about that?

 

No he wont as it is a vote in the General Assembly and America have no veto there.
