As far as my farce goes, If I didn't act like it was my real opinion I wouldn't get real responses.

As far as the abuses of welfare go, I guess its because I live in it that it bothers me so much. Many of the absurdities I posted were based on real life scenarios I witnessed as I work with and live side by side with many people who are on the take in some form or another. I see little personal responsibility, and even less acknowledgment of wrong doing. I would put the % of those receiving handouts as being either outright fradulent or at least inflated at over 50%.

I worked with a guy who smoked dope, had 5 kids with 3 different women, worked 4 days/week, received welfare and actually dropped a shift at work because he said he wanted to spend more time with his family. He obviously could afford to as well. He's a tipped employee too. When he was trying to refinance his house with a government loan and needed to make more money to qualify he recorded all his cash tips. After he got approved and needed to claim less to get more welfare, he stopped recording ANY cash tips. If you think they're aren't many tipped employees on welfare your wrong, and if you think most of them are being honest with the government on how much they take in so they aren't over compensated by welfare, you're dead wrong.

Another guy I work with sells his food stamps 2 for 1 to other people and buys nicer clothes with the proceeds.

I couldn't tell you how many section 8 houses I've been to that aren't even cleaned, they don't care about their houses because they don't own them.

I've seen relatives lose a job and instead of scrambling to find another express how they were going to take the summer off before they started to look for another job, collecting unemployment the whole time.

I've seen some of my wife's relatives justify taking 99 weeks of unemployment as an entitlement because they had paid unemployment insurance their whole life.

I've seen people pass up jobs on unemployment because they didn't pay as much as their old job.

I've seen co-workers move in with girlfriends who were on welfare and did not inform the government that their household had a lot more income than it did previously.

I've seen people on unemployment pick up part-time side jobs installing cabinets, being paid "under the table" and when this part-time job was added to their unemployment benefits they were being paid more to work less.

The list goes on and on. I don't know where you live, but where I live, fraud is very very common. Most people I hear talking about their situation are trying to find ways to supplement their handout not lose it.

I wouldn't worry about the stereotypes made on this forum. There many trolls who claim to be "conservatives" but are just out to hinder real political discussion.

    GET A JOB!

Social welfare is for people who temporarily fall on hard times. It is not for you have "have fun with" and it is not for "spending more time with family".

I suspect you are actually a Right winger and this is no more than an attempt to troll people on the left.

Not sure if the above is intended as a joke or not, but in my opinion persons with this mindset should be purged from society.

Show us where you learned this. That Government exists to provide for us.
Just give one example of any Founding Father even remotely suggesting that.
That is a flat out LIE.Any teacher in this Country that teahces that is Unamerican.
Teachers DO NOT HAVE a RIGHT to teach nonsense. If they pass it off as Truth then
they should be jailed.it's called Tyranny.Which leads to what Cuba turned into.

It is as dumb to say all people on welfare are lazy as it is to say that all people on welfare are not lazy.

There's so much wrong here, I don't even know where to start......
Are you the 'man of the house'? If so, then you were not raised by a father who worked to support his family? He didn't teach you about independence and work ethics?

If you're a single mother of 5 - well, that's at least 3 babies to many for someone who has to depend upon taxpayers to support herself and her 5 kids. Are all of your kids in school? If so, why don't you go out and try to get some kind of job to do while the kids are in school? Even if it's flipping hamburgers, it would be something. Did you graduate from HS or have a GED? If not, then go back to school and get educated. When your kids are grown and gone, you should have some kind of education and hopefully some work experience to support yourself...

But meanwhile, w/your 'gimme, gimme' attitude, you're breeding welfare recipients yourself and that's where this country gets it's generational welfare families, which this country can't afford and shouldn't have to support....

If the rich makes entirely to much $, it's b/c they worked their asses off to take care of themselves & their families and to secure theirs & families financial future and they shouldn't have to financially secure YOURS.... dig up some pride, get off your ass and go earn your own $$$$.

The Constitution was NOT designed to supply the deadbeats w/shelter, clothing, food, heat and certainly NOT an A/C, car and extra $ to go out and have fun......but the government has given you a helping hand w/shelter (HUD, which is 1/3 of your income), you can get free clothing from churches & other resources and of course, you have your EBT card and w/5 kids, I'd guess that's at least $4oo a month right there, not to mention food banks when you blow the whole EBT card b/f the end of the month, not to mention WIC when you have another baby....... then of course,t there's energy assistance to help lower your electric bill and when you receive the shut-off notice, there'd be an agency to pay your bill for you......

Oh yeah! Then there's your free Obama cellphone..... so you should have a lot of $$ to 'go out and have fun'.......

I really hope the day comes when welfare recipients will have to take a random drug tests to collect your free $ .... just like Joe and Jane Citizen has to take drug tests to keep their jobs so they can keep supporting your lazy ass.....

Don't get your feathers all ruffled - I'm not accusing you of being a drug addict - but there's millions out there on welfare who are and the taxpayers are supporting their habit.......

The entitlement mentality is strangling this country.........

Whelp, I don't know where to begin with you. You've obviously fell hook, line, and sinker for all the B.S. these capitalist pigs have shoved down your throat. You're probably out there, slaving away, 9 to 5 at some job, so that some other dude that owns the company can go on 20 vacations a year to Tahiti. Congratulations!

I am the "man of the house" as you put it, and if I lived in some third-world country, you're right, I'd probably have to be out there working the land to feed my family, but I live in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA son! The wealthy among us make so much, that if they kick in their FAIR share of taxes, my government can provide the basic necessities of food, shelter, cable tv, and clothing to me. If I need more than that I'm free to go out and get a job like you, but it just so happens I'm not so greedy. I'm thankful for what my government has provided me (no thanks to you I might add), and I don't need to drive a mercedes benz to be happy.

As far as the rich go, Mitt Romney didn't earn crap! He's riding on his father's coattails. You think cause somewhere down your ancestral line 1 dude worked his butt off and left you so much money you'll only need to click a few buttons on E*TRADE each year to take a trip to Hawaii, that I shouldn't be provided the basic necessities of life? Capitalist Swinery at its finest.

You're passive accusation (and blatant stereotype) of me being a drug addict is false. I smoke some pot here and there, but so what, it's a free country. Surely I'm allowed to have a vice like the rest of you. Would you be giving such a hard time if I had chosen alcohol or tobacco?

You're right about the entitlement mentality though, but I'm not the one who has it, it's you! You think cause you work you should have it even better than you already do. My section 8 townhouse has roaches, my car is over 10 yrs old, I only get 250 min a month on my "Obama Phone", and my TV just BARELY gets 100 channels. If you didn't care so much about showing your new car to your friends, you could do what I do, but that's the thing, your materialistic, egotistical, and you think since you work 40 hrs a week you're entitled to so much more than me! If you think I got it so good, how come you're not on welfare?

This country was too broke to afford to pay for the basic necessities of it's constituents in the beginning, but we've come a long way. The rich have plenty of money to give to the government now. It all started with JFK, he flat out said "Ask not what you can do for your country, but what your country can do for you". Why do you think he pointed that out? Because, finally, after ALL our hard work, we could finally start giving back to the people who needed it most ... like me.

What's funny is the folks who are jumping in late and replying without reading the entire thread won't realize you were just role playing.

This could go on for days.

The OP is half right. Most people on welfare are not lazy. and simply need help, but some are lazy as hell and abusing the system because they don't want to work.

You don't get it. It has nothing to do with laziness. It's about those of us who are materialistic and greedy, and those of us who are down to earth and thankful. There is so much wealth in this country, that if the rich kick in their fair share, all other Americans can have the basic necessities of life provided for them by their government. Working is for those poor schleps who think they need to drive a new BMW, have 600 tv channels, and the newest iphone. I feel sorry for their families, there going to miss out on so much family time trying to impress their fellow capitalists pigs.

you MUST be trolling. You're getting welfare, and you're denying that you're lazy (which I have no contention with), and then saying that the rich make too much? Look, you're welfare check is determined by politicians because you've reached a position (in principle, since you're on welfare) where you can't reach a level of subsistence on your own. The rich man earns his own check. He earns it, therefore he gets to decide what is too much.

and you ought to listen to this. It's only two and a half minutes, so please oblige me. I'm not asking you to watch a long-@** video.

I made it two pages and aside from those posting the troll comments people keep responding as if this guy is serious. He's a republican troll pretending to be the republican poster child of those on welfare.

1st off every rich man doesn't "earn" his paycheck. Just because Mitt Romney's father gave him millions of dollars that he used to PAY SOMEONE ELSE to work hard and ensure he get's a good return on his stock market account (and pay less taxes than you), doesn't mean he works "hard" or has "earned" it.

2nd, you're right, my government gets to decide what's too much for me. That's why I'm not driving a BMW and and snorting cocaine off the railing on my yacht. What they have established is "enough" for me is a meager house, food, heat, a/c, a cellphone, and enough spending money so that I can provide clothing and entertainment to my 5 children. I'M NOT COMPLAINING! I'm thankful for all the time I get to spend with my family. If I wanted more, I'd put in 40 hrs a week at a job I hated like you do. That's the thing though. I'm not greedy like you. I don't need to impress my in-laws with my fancy new cars, or clothes, or jewelry.

I watched your video. If you think I was unaware that I'm able to lead such a blessed life because of all the greedy people like you, you're mistaken. I realize this, and it works for both the host and the parasite (I'm sure we'd disagree on who is the host and who is the parasite), I get the basic necessities of life without compromising all my time with my family, and you get to impress all your cronies with your new car. What's the problem? If you think I have it so good on welfare, why aren't you on it?

I'd hardly call this trolling anymore, I gave up the ruse 3 pages ago. We're just role-playing out responses to a person who may be content with his welfare salary at this point. Weigh in, what do you say to someone who isn't ambitious and is instead content with his welfare check?

I hope you are joking, truly I really do. If not you are a lazy greedy sob that is not worthy of being father. You are a cancer and should be ashamed.

A sense of pride is what keeps decent able working folk off of welfare as a permanent solution.

What? You want to try to legislate some sort of minimum pride requirement for welfare? Good Luck Trying, until then I'll cherish every extra minute I get to spend with my family, even if my car isn't as nice as yours.
