These are just a few of my favorites. Do you have more???

    ^ Ha! Dick Morris!

On the defeat of the Scott Walker recall in Wisconsin: (where Obama won by a solid 6 percentage points.)

^ Looks like those "leftninnys" were right! By the way, as much as I disagree with Grok's views, props to him for changing his signature line in honor of a friendly lost wager!

    ^Hey that's a good one! :xd:

In three or four years, I look forward to taking all the present-day quotes lamenting the downfall and implosion of America, comparing it to our then-state of renewed prosperity, and having another good chuckle.

Yeah they were so certain it came as a shock. They seemed to lay low for the first couple of days after the election and then went into full crazy mode. It's been very entertaining.

acefreely and "the 'trend' is to romney"!
    Too funny for words

Also "Obama is toast", used by every rightist on the forum at some point.

It's fun to read a few of those. Right-wingers have no shame. But it gets disturbing after a while, seeing so much delusional thought.

It was very hard to predict this outcome as Romney was leading Obama until the last debate but Obama regained a slight lead just before Hurricane Sandy hit and voters rallied behind the acting president when the nation was in a crisis with hundreds dead and millions out of electricity. Without Sandy, Obama's margin of victory would have been much smaller and only Ohio would have made the difference, which Romney lost by just 2%.

It is kind of funny that the Republican sympathizers console themselves by blaming a hurricane for their loss. Surely Romney would have won it if Americans hadn't been persuaded by... a windstorm! Hurricane Katrina made W look bad, Hurricane Sandy made Obama look good... maybe they should prepare for elections by watching more Weather Channel and less Fox News.

That wasn't a windstorm. That was the stupidity sucking the air out of the Romney campaign.

About a month ago I heard a story from a head of a polling organization who described how Democrats and Republicans typically react to his polls. He said when his results are favorable for Republicans, Democrats either take it in stride or want to kill themselves (figure of speech). When results are favorable for Democrats, Republicans want to kill him (also a figure of speech, although he said the emails were often pretty nasty).

That's how Republicans roll. They form pre-determined conclusions, based on ideology and partisanship, and any evidence that contradicts those conclusions must be fraudulent, evidence of "liberal media bias" or what not.

Make sure you give it 5 stars!

It is a very entertaining thread, and I think we should keep it in mind for the next elections!

You would think this would be a career killer for some of them. I guess we'll see. The best one was on election night when analysts called Ohio for Obama and Karl Rove still would not accept reality, claiming that there were enough Republican counties left to win the state for Romney. Fox News host Megyn Kelly asked him if he was using special Republican math to make himself feel better. Brilliant!

Hopefully the Republicans have learned that you can't be a party for the top 10% and hope to fool the rest into voting for you as a valid election strategy, not in today's world with the internet and 24 hour news.

If they can take their lumps and learn this lesson, they can emerge competitive again as they, hopefully, start to champion ideas that benefit more than just the the top 10% of income earners in this country.

My personal hope is that they also shed the social conservatism, as this also played into their loss because people don't want to vote for a party that is barely concealed about their disdain for you and your issues(women, minorities, poor people, etc).

If they can learn these lessons, and make some moves to adapt, they can become a better party. If they double down on failure, as I've seen some on this forum and in the GOP suggest, it only gets worse from here. People think this election was lost because Obama fooled people. That wasn't it. It was lost because Romney and the Republicans weren't fooling enough people this time around. This was their election to win, and they lost it because they thought people's dislike of Obama would make them buy into whatever gobbledegook the Republican talking heads could spew out, including Romney.

The American people made a good decision this election cycle in not voting for the party of stupid. They may have voted for the party of entitlements and welfare spending, but at least you know what you're getting with the Dems and they represent all classes of America, not just those with healthy bank accounts and incomes.

Unfortunately....I know I'll be wrong. You wait.

The Right has been programmed (by Rush, Fox, etc) to have notoriously SHORT memories. In a year or less, you will see Rightwing bloggers SERIOUSLY quoting Rasmussen polls, even Dick Morris "analysis" and claiming authority and credibility for it.
