A long time ago, in a country that seemed so far away, back when I was very, very young, a man name Newt Gingrich was Speaker of the House. I have heard of what Newt has done, even read about it, while he was not the perfect Republican, he was indeed a man who was fearless, relentless and highly combative - he even was part of shutting down the federal government for nearly a month. Since Newt, who knew no fear, we have no gone to who I call the Cowardly Lion, John Boehner. The Republican Party of today is a party of cowards, they have no fight, all the want to do is find the quickest way to give up and surrender to Democrats. Oh sure, some people might be fooled into thinking John "Crybaby" Boehner is finally getting tough on this fiscal cliff issue, but it is all a big act. The question is not, if John Boehner will cave in, but when. John Boehner is a spineless coward, and the enough Republicans like him are also spineless cowards, they have no will to fight, and furthermore; they are absolute morons in thinking by caving in the will win favor with the media and left. John Boehner is not a fighter, his natural position is to grab his ankles and beg Democrats to start kicking him as hard as they can and do so repeatedly, it is the only thing Boehner knows. I am just laughing at this stand off regarding the fiscal cliff, I am not fooled, the Democrats will walk all over Boehner like a doormat, just like they always do. So, it comes down to this, we have the GOP, the party of surrender vs. the Democrat Party, the party of no. If I am a betting man, I put my money on the Democrats in a heartbeat, the only decision I would have to make is, what timeline will it take for Boehner to surrender? So, let's have a contest and see who guesses correctly!!

Gingrich was the pestilence spawned by Hillary-care and the Clinton AWB.

This scum bag then boinked his way through several wives and mistresses, and deserted his cancer stricken wife on her death bed.

    Typical greed strickened Repub.

    Keep showcasing him, yah.

    Gotta love it.

The sooner they cave the better imo.

They need to give the democrats what they want so when the economy tanks the left has no one to blame but themselves. Maybe then the sheep in this country will realize that the democrats do not have the answer to our problems.

Tax the rich and let them spend away, sit back and wait for 2016 when we are in another recession, 30 trillion in debt, and 70 of the country is on government assisstance.

Then they can say, "See, told ya so."

Boom, the republicans take the entire Congress and the Presidency.

As long as John Boehner and the establishment is in charge, it is a given.

What good will this approach do? The Democrats have a compliant media, a media whose only job is to protect Democrats at all costs! Giving Democrats what they want shows weakness, I have no respect for weakness. Furthermore, going with this strategy only puts us further in the whole. Face it, the same dumbf***s who voted "D" in this election, will still vote "D", just as long as they get their free handouts and they can keep freeloading off of society, all while sitting in front of a TV and contributing nothing to society except a increasing debt.

So, let's say we go with this. That leads to the next question. Why would I waste a vote on Republicans? If they are not willing to fight now, why would they ever fight. They are a party of cowards with no fight. No offense, but come 2016, I am voting straight Libertarian, as I am a registered Libertarian. Maybe if Republican would actually show some fight, I would vote for them, but the days of Newt Gingrich are long gone. I will not vote Republican simply because I have no interest in voting for someone who if they win, the first thing they will do is grab their ankles and tell Democrats to start kicking.

When was the last time Democrats every reached across the isle. Oh, and when was the last time the Democrats offered a budget proposal??? Yeah.....

Yeah but it didn't effect his job. Besides from the way you tell it he was getting more than Clinton...He ought to be a Democrat hero...Just like Ol' Billy-Boy.

If there are no cuts, then the Republicans need to walk away.

There is not salvation for the U.S.A. unless we stop the runaway spending.

We are at a time of record revenue, yet Barack Obama and the Democrats are still spending $1 TRILLION more than we take in. It will be a disaster.

At least he did not rape Juanita Broderick, or molest Paula Jones and Kathleen Wiley.... or murder Mary Jo Kopechne.... that's what Democrat heroes do.

    I don't think we will.

I think this ends in defense cuts, and a tax raise, which is really what this country probably needs to do anyways!

The fiscal cliff=Taxes go up and we have spending cuts and to avoid this we need to raise taxes and have spending cuts.....makes perfect sense.

Yeah and Gingrich didn't actually inflict bodily harm as Clinton did by giving her a fat lip and then telling her to 'put ice on that.'

That's a recipe for continuing budget deficits and an increasing national debt.

The media had to destroy Newt. Newt was the biggest threat to the welfare state in modern history. Newt got amazing negative media numbers in the pre-Fox News days. Then, he was investigated and gotten rid of. The GOP has never been the same. The GOP fears the media and wants to be liked by them for the most part.

They could do that. Then come back and restore the cuts at the beginning of Jan. If Obama doesn't approve it, then they'll blame him.

Leftists have zero answers in dealing with the budget deficit and the national debt. Even raising taxes back to the Clinton levels won't help. They are out of answers.

The Red team needs to be able to fulfill their pledge of no tax increases.

So they must take everyone over the cliff the first time around.

So that it is not construed as raising taxes on their Red team rich.

Only someone who took no college econ would recommend a balanced budget during a depression or a great recession.

Google john maynard keynes for a quickie, since it is too late to go back to college now.

Pal, there is no gain without pain. Today or tomorrow there will be pain. Every way you look at it average living standards for most americans are going to decline. This generation created the problem so this generation should bear the pain.
