The concept of slavery is not a sin. Prisoners are virtual slaves. Prisoners of war in WW2 were virtual slaves. Chain gangs---slaves.

In roman times---slaves earned freedom and could became wealthy entrepenours.

Slavery as a concept is not sin but some are confused on what slavery actually is and what God actually expects from all people.. You are focused on Slaves as done by the US South in the 1800's. Which was not the normal way of doing things in the over-all concept of "slavery". It was truely a sin because slaves were treated as sub-human, bred and were basically no more then animals....which God doesn't like since he created all in His image.

Personally---I think if our felony prisoners were slaves instead of given the "God given" right to TV's and Sex change operations---we would be a healthier society.
