Tea Party Congressman Criticizes Michelle Obama For Attending Hadiya Pendleton’s Fune

Color me unsurprised.

In what can best be described as classes, which appears to be rather synonymous with Republican and Tea Party, Remember, this is the same genius that suggested alligators to stop illegal immigration.

I digress.

Apparently he disapproves of the First lady attending the funeral of a murdered teen and criticizes her for not attending other funerals. Yes, a murdered child, and he accuses the First Lady of politicizing it, which appears to be exactly what he did, using the death of a child to score cheap political points with mindless drones.

Now there comes a time when politicians and former politicians should just shut up and pick their battles. This is apparently one of those times but Walsh either did not get the memo or completely lacked the intelligence to figure it out. Hadiya Pendleton was 15, and has family, and criticizing attention being brought to the issue by claiming there is not attention being brought to the issue seems to me to be about the biggest tool move in recent history. Joe, for decency's sake, why not just shut the hell up?

In an extreme case of “they can’t win for losing,” former Tea Party congressman Joe Walsh tweeted the accusation that First Lady Michelle Obama is only attending the funeral of slain Chicago teen, 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton, to shore up a little political capital.

Hadiya’s death has become the latest rallying cry of a city tired of being plagued by gun and gang violence. As previously reported by NewsOne, hundreds of people signed a White House “We The People” petition urging President Barack Obama to attend her funeral. Rev. Jesse Jackson also urged the POTUS to attend.

He’s not; but the First Lady is:

“As a mother and Chicagoan, the first lady was heartbroken to learn of the tragic loss of Hadiya Pendleton due to senseless gun violence,” said Kristina Schake, the first lady’s communications director. “Too many times, we’ve seen young people struck down with so much of their lives ahead of them. The first lady is traveling to her funeral on Saturday to offer her condolences and support to Hadiya’s family and loved ones.”

Hadiya was the 42nd homicide victim in Chicago this year, according to the Tribune. The Bloody City is on track to have the highest homicide record since 2002.

 

Pandering. Did she attend the other 500+ murders in Chicago in 2012?

 

Yeah good old Chicago, with the nation's worst gun-grabbing laws, and Queen Moochelle wants to go mug for the cameras at a funeral to promote the RATS latest cause celebre, gun-grabbing.

I think Muchell dropped into this funeral right after she went by to see JJ Jr. in his hour of depression. JJ Sr. asked BH Obama to meet with Jr. and promise to pardon him so that Jr.'s will stop crying all day. But BHO is having some real food while Hoochell is out of town so I bet JJ Sr.s understands.

Sounds like ignoring Chicago's violence epidemic was becoming a potential political problem for Obama. A petition was signed... even Jesse Jackson put pressure on Obama to attend. I guess Obama had to toss his black voting bloc a bone by sending his wife on another trip. I hope she got some good shopping in to make it worth her while.

Funny, there were hundreds of gun deaths well before this girl, of which is tragic. But Der Child Like Emperor and his woman wait till now to address it?

That's a great point. I'm sure the idiotic black Obama voters in Chicago won't even bother asking why this would be the first time Obama even showed a slight interest in the situation going on there. A visit from Queen Michelle will be all that is needed to placate their welfare-ridden minds.

Pretending to care about black victims of murder just because it's becoming a political issue for you. Democrats are scumbags.

 

There is not as simple as that.

First, the Obama's were involved in local Chicago politics right up until B. Obama campaigned for the White House. Obviously, President Obama's concerns have expanded.

Second, this particular girl has been identified by the CPD as an innocent bystander. The statistics that people keep quoting are general- the majority of those minors were likely gang members.

Third, gang violence is much more difficult to deal with than random crime because gangs become part of local culture, a sort of sub-society.

Fourth, this particular girl's band played at President Obama's inauguration in January. The media attention demands attention.

 

And yet they still wonder why they are widely seen as the party of hate and ignorance?

She serves the interests of the president.
