Juan Williams, who works for FOX, and was fired from NPR for comments he made about Muslims, discusses some of his views and experiences pertaining to left leaning media. Video at this link, and also at article link. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/201...-stab-you-kill-you-fire-you-if-you-speak-out/
I wouldn't be surprised if this is true. Many people out there in the world have been basically brainwashed to filter the world through the lens of political correctness. If certain facts or realities are disadvantageous to a group, they don't exist. there comes a point where that kind of behavior becomes more about inflating one's own ego than anything else. (Still, it's kind of stupid to be afraid whenever you see a person wearing Muslim garb on a plane. If you are a muslim terrorist, the last thing you would want to look like is a muslim. I do understand why one would feel that way however, given that the most prominent anti-America organization happens to be Islamic.)
What I took from it, is that, while the left leaning are the loudest voice in preaching tolerance and such, there is zero tolerance in aberration from party and ideological lines.
In other news, water is wet. I've said this for years. If liberals spent half as much time actually practicing tolerance as they spend preaching it, they'd be really nice people. The fact that many of them can't find a way to even get along with conservatives is proof positive of how intolerant they actually are. And the minute they blame conservatives for that turbulence, they expose their own hypocrisy. Because a truly tolerant person is even patient with a raging jerk. Why aren't liberals more like the Dalai Lama? That's what real tolerance looks like. Have you ever seen that guy mad? He's always smiling. He's always peaceful. Show me one single liberal with that kind of openness toward all humankind. Just one.
I'm inclined to believe almost every perpetually outraged, bitter progressive loudmouth is, in actuality, projecting.
NPR keeps a tight leash on all its analyst and commentators, how many of them do you see appearing on other networks at all? All NPR staff were prohibited from attending the Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert rally in DC. They are obviously a little totalitarian. Williams was fired in the name of journalistic objectivity. I am sure the right wingers on here find NPR to be completely biased, but they pride themselves for avoiding bias, maybe so much so that it is a bias itself. It is also interesting how many crazy academic ideas clutter up news coverage, often with the best of intentions editors make mistakes of emphasis at the least, and miss huge and obvious truths at the worst due to the teachings of published experts. Williams had several appearances on Fox, and was paid for them by Fox. I am sure that rankled NPR editors. He made disparaging remarks about the first lady and justified ethnic biases about middle easterners. All of that is contrary to NPRs self view. Williams appeared to be striking out on his own with little regard for his position, and he got fired. I do not think this was a conspiracy between NPR and muslim public relations groups. I think its all about communication and sensitivity within NPR administration.

The Daily Caller has done some investigative work and found that some of the most vocal supporters of the Juan Williams firing from NPR are part of organizations that receive Soros funding. Soros is a supporter of NPR, recently donating $1.8 million to the publicly-funded radio outlet. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2010/11/09/report-ardent-npr-defenders-receive-soros-funding-too/
