Who is the enemy? Someone the state tells you is the enemy?

Reyna Santos, her Spanish 3 teacher, required all her students to recite this allegiance to Mexico as a part of her Spanish class but Brenda Brinsdon refused to recite the Mexican Pledge of Allegiance and sing the Mexican National Anthem because she was already fluent in Spanish as a daughter of a Mexican immigrant and the Spanish teacher should have given her an alternative assignment, considering the political sensitivities involved in reciting the Mexican Pledge of Allegiance for a girl of part Mexican descent.

Yeah, I'd tend to agree with you on this. Not sure how far it would get in the court system either way.

Why not use an anthem of any other of the dozens of Spanish speaking countries like I dunno Spain? We all know why. Because asking to see a person's ID card will lead to racial profiling. But it's racist to say that illegal aliens are Mexicans.

Mexico is the only Spanish-speaking country with which we share a border, the Mexican dialect is the dialect most widely spoken in the USA. How could there be a more logical choice of a culture and dialect to teach?

Let me tell you something about teaching a foreign language. If there is a person in the class whose pronunciation and vocabulary are superior to those of the rest of the class, that student can be used as a role model for the rest of the class. Brinsdon is a slacker.

They shouldn't have to. School is for learning, not instilling values you want them to have. That should be the role of the parents.

If parents want their kid to recite the pledge of allegiance every day then there's no reason they can't do so at the breakfast table.

Depends what definition. I think we should refrain from calling too many things treason as we dillute the meaning of the word.

IMO it should be reserved for actively and directly and intentionally assisting an official enemy during a time of war, giving them weapons or cash or spying for them or something.

If it's in a World Religions class and it's part of the text they are learning, then YES.

Two things here: This probably is more about the father being upset than the daughter. And second, the day a teacher gives an alternative to one student is the day that teacher has lost control of her classroom. By making an exception for her, then all the students would demand an alternative for whatever reason.

So letting one teenage boy shower in the girls dressing room is wrong even if he thinks he's really a girl?

    Not at all.

Libs are all for making exceptions when the homosexual agenda is on parade but not when respect for our flag is the issue.

I would have to assume that all of the immigrant students in this district that take ESL (english as a second language) are expected to say the USA pledge of allegiance to pass. I would also hope that the ESL classes do teach about the culture of the USA and what is regarded as polite and proper behavior in the USA.

I know 15 years ago this wasnt the case, all they taught were the nouns, verbs, adjectives and sentence structure. Im sure this has evolved to include teaching the pledge and appreciation for the US, right?

After all, these ESL students are getting an education because of our good graces and tax dollars, they should assimilate and be grateful.

And what homosexual agenda would that be?

Look, I think you need to spend less time worrying about what other people do in their bedrooms and spend more time in your own house before taking a step outside in the real world.

A child pervert boy who thinks he's girl is causing trouble in a public shower not his/her/it's on bedroom.

You want us to drop everything for this mixed up kid but force a young girl to pledge allegiance to a foreign flag?

That's just sick all the way around.

You have no clue as to language instruction techniques, to judge by your post. To those of us who have, the kid looks like a little snot.
