That wasn't my point. You have a pro abortionist toolbag claiming that somehow babies aren't human or alive until the moment they pop out of their mother's snatch. Which is complete bull(*)(*)(*)(*).

To be honest, I could give a flying (*)(*)(*)(*) if women get abortions. It's not my concern. But that doesn't make the practice of abortion any less barbaric, or the logical fallacies that pro baby killers spew so they can sleep at night, anymore grounded in reality.

Yes. Women are imperfect humans just like men. You might also say "a man who "finds" that he has impregnated a woman" but of course HE is held blameless by conservatives for the woman's irresponsibility in the matter of a broken condom or other BC failure.

Sex is a perfectly normal, expected part of marriage or a couple's relationship. If they're both in school or getting started at new jobs and can't afford a baby for awhile, is it your opinion the woman should just simply refuse to have sex at all - since she's the one who will be forced to bear the "irresponsible" label - whether the man is agreeable or not to being "cut off"?

Because the left's helpless, hapless useful idiots haven't been responsible enough to manage proper prenatal care, and don't discover a major "problem" until the third trimester.....to wit, their irresponsibility is alleviated again by late-term abortion.

Maybe she did. Maybe it broke. Maybe the MAN should have taken responsibility for birth control - especially if she did not have a condom or any other form of BC and HE knew it was irresponsible to have unprotected sex for a variety of reasons - a man WOULD know that, wouldn't he? Why are men not assigned any responsibility whatsoever when it comes to protected sex and avoiding pregnancy? It's just not a "manly" thing to do? LOL!

And I'm not sure we can eliminate abortions, if a woman is truly intent on termination the pregnancy, it can be done. My issue is that the ones wanting to eliminate abortion are most certainly not life savers as they claim, but merely life controllers, because if they did care about life, they would put at least as much effort to stop miscarriages.

Now to help this be put into perspective, by allowing easy access to the morning after pill and developing a process to extract the embryo and storing it, with easy access to that method, has the potential of really cutting down the abortion procedure. Yet these RW yahoos will b!tch and complain about having to pay for welfare whores, even if it isn't true, yet still claim they care about life.

thank you for making my point.

You bet the man would know. they're both responsible.

The men are just as responsible, and are held accountable by the courts. They have to pay.

What if the man said he wanted the baby, but the woman didnt? Which side would you go with? That might also help with your question...lol...

I agree the morning after pill and those like it should be readily available over the counter and at a low cost.

Of course, although this is no reason to sanction it. Once it is sanctioned and made so sterile...we get what we see today. A culture where babies are a throwaway inconvenience. At least if we made them take the route you suggested, some would refrain and the numbrers would go down. Not all women are going to take those risks. IIRC they performed 300,000 abortions last year. Those werent all rapes and incest. :(

I disagree. You cannot physically make someone exercise, or take their vitamins. You can pressure them to...but you have no way to force it. That being said, even when all preventative measures are foillowed...it still happens unfortunately. Life isnt perfect.

You realize some of our RW friends think the morning after pill is the same as the RU 486 abortion pill. Just a little effort in this direction on their part would provide actual results, yet they prefer the abstinence part, just like their contraceptive method.

Lack of exercise and vitamins is not the method for a miscarriage.

Except that many forms of birth control do not prevent conception. They just basically auto-abort the fertilized egg.

I am also curious as to how the extremists would go about enforcing laws banning abortion if they ever got their wish. Would they require all women of fertile age to register with the state and submit to medical exams twice a month? Would they be required to report to the "infalliable" state every time they had sex? Would all miscarriages be investigated as "murder investigations"? How "small government" of them!

I'd say the counter to this would be to require the state to pay for ALL the childs needs, education, food, clothing, medical care etc etc with taxpayer money of course. And implimenting a "baby tax" on all incomes at a 35% rate that will not allow for a single write off.

Then birth control is a misnomer when applied to them, as birth control prevents pregnancy... once pregnant, birth control does not apply to abortion of any kind.

It happens most often to those the progressive left exploits with the "victim / oppressor" dichotomy... "useful idiots", as it were....that they go on to coddle, excuse, and alleviate more and more personal responsibility and accountability...transferring it to the "collective"....while demonizing the last line of defense of capitalism and the Constitution...the evil, oppressive right-wing... for daring to ask these folks to manage their own sex lives...and deleterious consequences of same.

    Really? Got links?
Nice Rhetoric, take long to come up with that or did you simply copy and paste?
Is someone asking you to manage their sex life? Is that something that happens often for you, does it pay well?

Conservatives have argued this entire thread that every baby aborted has a chance of being born alive and if it is, heroic measures should be used to keep the fetus alive at all costs - no matter the reasons the abortion was being done late enough in a pregnancy that the baby WOULD be viable outside the womb which to most intellects would indicate that it's for serious medical reasons - either the mother's health or serious abnormalities in the fetus. Many of these conditions don't manifest themselves until later in a pregnancy - hydrocephalus i.e. which is why late term abortions are done.

I had a family member who had had 3 or 4 miscarriages and was finally in her 7th month of pregnancy. Her BP spiked and after a week in the hospital trying to get it down, her obstetrician (she was a nurse in his office) told her they needed to take the baby because if not, one or both of them were going to die. They did a C-section, the baby was born alive, he was taken to a neo-natal unit in another hospital to try to save him and he lived about 24 hours. He had no abnormalities, he was a very much wanted baby, and every effort was made to save him - his lungs just weren't sufficiently developed to keep him alive.

Many years ago, I had a friend who had 2 children very close together and was overwhelmed with taking care of them, her husband and her home. She "found herself pregnant" again and lived her days in panic and desperation. She told me she had tried all kinds of old folk remedies, would stand at the top of the stairs and fall off and other crazy things trying to induce an abortion but nothing worked. She carried the baby full term and when it was born alive, the father described it as a "monster" and they and the doctor agreed that it should be let die because there was absolutely nothing they could do for it.

The part I don't understand is why conservatives don't understand or have any knowledge of the OTHER side of the abortion issue - the lives and families that are directly impacted in so many ways by having another child that they didn't plan on and especially a child with serious birth defects that would need a lifetime of medical care and caretaking. The other thing I don't understand is why cons are so anxious to have every child born - sick or healthy - and whether the mother is a responsible adult or a 13-yr-old child - and the minute they're born, turn on the mothers and the babys as greedy, good-for-nothings who just want to live on welfare so they never have to work. IMPO, if cons demand that all these children be born, they need to take responsibility for the results and support laws to take care of them with food, shelter, day care, and medical care, or subsidize the mother being able to complete college and help with day care so she can become self-supporting for her and the child instead of trying to make things as hard as possible for them and calling them names.

And since you oppose abortion, you therefore support the illegalization of most forms of birth control, since most of them do exactly what I said.

They are just a couple of examples of the accepted steps one should take to remain healthy during pregnancy and to try and prevent miscarriages.

    http://www.webmd.com/baby/understanding-miscarriage-prevention

In the end though, as I stated, even following the recommended guidelines for a heealthy pregnancy...you cannot guarantee it.

I wish there was a statistic on the number Texas debutantes who 'vacation' in Switzerland every year.

I don't oppose any birth control. I oppose the inappropriate use of the term. Birth control prevents pregnancy... it does not make you un-pregnant. Prevention != termination.

Almost every form of hormonal and most forms of implant birth control do exactly as I said they do.

Do you favor making them illegal?
