UK’s first Muslim lesbian wedding !!

Two Pakistan women are believed to have become the first Muslim lesbian couple to tie the knot in a civil ceremony in the UK, British press reported on Sunday.

Rehana Kausar, 34, and Sobia Kamar, 29, former students in the UK, applied for political asylum following their marriage at the registry office in Leeds earlier this month, The Independent reported.

“This country allows us rights and it’s a very personal decision that we have taken. It’s no one’s business as to what we do with our personal lives,” Kausar was quoted as telling the Birmingham-based Sunday Mercury newspaper.

The couple reportedly told the registrar during the ceremony that they met 3 years ago while studying business and health care management at Birmingham and were living together in South Yorkshire for about a year.

Relatives of the couple said that the women have received threats of death both in the UK and from their opponents in Pakistan, where these kinds of relationships are considered illegal by law.

Homosexuality is strictly forbidden in Islam.

What is wrong lately with those Muslims ?

In my opinion this is the begining of a big Snow ball.

When I read it, the first thing I thought is, 'they are going to be killed'. I gather they will change their names and hide somewhere, but they'll be found and probably end up in the obtuary section. I mean how in the world are they going to get jobs without someone finding out where they are...unless they fall under some government protection.

Frankly I can't understand it, why don't these gays and lesbians go back into the closet where they'll be safe, instead of forcing people into an acceptance of their life style? I mean with all the murders going on in the world, all the starvation, all the sickness', all the wars and suffering, how can they be so self centered as to think everyone should concern themselves with their weird sexual choices and personal pleasures and lusts.

Ah, these would be Jews who think of Jesus as the fulfillment of Jewish scripture and prophecy. There's really nothing intrinsically wrong with their belief in this regard since many of the earliest Jewish converts to "The Way", as Christians were called at first, still thought of themselves as Jews.

No. Because Jews don't strive to kill Jewish worshipers of Christ. People don't get---that to convert, to be gay or lesbian or actually---to believe in free will and freedom can bring you death if you are Muslim. THAT is why we don't expect to hear about lesbian Muslims. Because Islam intimidates with fear.

I met a "non-practicing" Muslim at work who insists that she believes in the faith - I couldn't help but wonder if she cares that she's going to hell. Believing in God is one thing, believing and still going against his will is another.

See there are these things called 'principles', and many people are unwilling to compromise them. Many people have died because their principles mean more to them than the threat of death from ignorant, neanderthal bigots.
Women died so that you were able to get to vote. But I guess they should have just shut up, right?

 

Its great to see these women getting married, well done to them. Their choice of lifestyle has absolutely no effect on me or anybody else for that matter, so why should I be against it? Its also good to see them defying a religion with stone-age principles.
