It's pretty obvious that an incident involving one shooter and multiple victims in a "safe" area of public activity will garner more press. The link you cite shows multiple unlinked incidences. Still each victim should be do equal press.

Fewer Americans own guns than did 20 years ago.

Crime has been dropping since GW Bush's term...UNTIL NOW, however....

Those new guns were purchased to protect the owners from society, not to protect society.
Remember, when an ideology sets out to fundamentally transform America it just might happen. It has. Not sure if you asked for it, I know I didn't, but that's the new reality the left has created.

Crime is still on the decline. More people being armed means criminals have less chance of actually standing and fighting anyone that is an unarmed victim.

Some poor sot in Sanford, Florida is currently facing years of incarceration if he loses his self-defense case....a case your corrupt statist overlords and state media progressive whores have self-servingly adulterated towards a dogma supporting conviction.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. an environment progressive gun-grabbers are insidiously frog boiling into the main.

There is no real proof of that and the study that says that is fairly old.

Because it doesn't happen "almost daily" in Chicago... or anywhere else in the US.

Abolish guns among the citizens. It's the only solution. Only the police and military need guns, regardless of obsolete rights.

And of course, the feds spying on terrorists without actually affecting, rounding up or doing anything about anyone that has done nothing wrong is FAAAAAARRRRRR more dangerous than actual people shooting and killing other innocent people daily with guns they bought from private industry solely so that that industry can profit from the deaths of innocents. Well done, keep those conservative priorities right where they are. They will continue to fade into oblivion along with your entire party. Of course, you guys won't go down without a shoot-out, we get it.

A mass shooting is a shooting that results in at least 4 deaths. What is interesting about your little article is that it proves that Chicago doesn't have mass shootings.

What a terribly ignorant, yet hackneyed talking point. Yes, where gun violence was already great, urban areas in deep poverty have had bans on the sale of guns put in place to try and slow the crime in those areas. Of course, as long as they are still easily accessible 4 blocks away or one town over, it won't work. Every single time that I see this argument, it convicts me more and more to agree that you are right, as long as they can still get guns in other areas, those types of bans wont' suffice. We need to try to live in an environment where gun ownership itself is a crime across the country, and THEN we can see a 90% reduction (not complete reduction I agree, but significant ot say the least) in gun deaths. Yes, poor, poor, oppressed fear mongering, right wing crazies won't have access to the guns they cling to so dearly (despite the fact that no one is coming for you and it's all narcissistic self loathing) the facts are, if people can't buy guns and every legally owned one is taken off the streets, suddenly people that don't have them now won't someday become a criminal down the road.

The poor sot in Sanford was a stalker, a cop wanna-be. And now he's a murderer.

Most of these problems in Chicago are the result of gangs and drugs. Why don't you just ban drugs instead? Whoops. Guess bans don't work, do they?

Um, right at 500 deaths last year in Chicago.
Lessee, I am real bad at math. But I do know that there are only 365 days in a year. So, 500 deaths is more than one a day on any day average.
But feel free to check my math.

    Yes I'm right.

You have, again, proven that Chicago doesn't have mass murders. Why is a state with gun restrictions not more prone to mass murders? Hmmm. Maybe the laws are helping to keep guns away from the mentally ill and criminals...

Well said on all counts. We should be outraged at the senseless loss of life no matter where the innocent victims live or how much money they have or the color of their skin. I don't know why people support the NRA when it seems they are hell bent in making sure murderers and terrorists are well armed.

Oh, ignoring the forest for the trees.

    National mass shooting toll since 1980s = Chicago's 500 homicides in 2012
