Poll Says Blacks More Racist Than Whites

This is the part I find most interesting.

 

I had great hopes that with a black president, we'd have even better racial relationships. But he's actually made it worse with the things he's done. IMHO, Obama has set our racial relationships back decades.

 

So where is your link to a poll saying something different?

 

I agree.

His reaction to the Crowley/Gates incident was a noticeable example of it.

 

And another local incident he felt the need to inject himself into: The Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case.

Neither is accepting of it.

But if that kid has a white dad, he's likely to get messed up by blacks.

So this poll is about perception of racism and not actual racism.

I don't recommend anyone be the only white in a black bar, or the only black in a white bar. However, MLK Blvd is dangerous for whites. Ronald Reagan Blvd not so much for blacks.

I was not one of the blacks polled. They are the ones that said they were more racist. I agree with their self-observation.

Looks to me like those who empty-headedly toss around the word "racism" don't like their orthodoxy challenged - even by 31% of blacks polled.

 

To prove the thread title all you have to do is look at the most racist pair in the US, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. The black community would be far better off with out them!!!!!

 

They almost did. If they hated black people he wouldn't have even been considered.

A poll that measures external opinions towards a phenomena (racism) is not an indicator as to whether or not that phenomena actually exists in the quantity or amount that the opinionated group believes it does. Case in point, roughly 20% of Americans also believe that the sun orbits the earth and that they have personally been abducted by aliens. Just because a certain amount of people believe in something, that doesn't mean what they believe is accurate. But leave it up to brain-dead conservatives to happen across a story like this, misinterpret it, and use it as a racist dog whistle.

If the goal is to determine which group is more 'racist than the other', a research approach would be to utilize self assessments designed to measure the respondent's personal prejudices and give them directly to the demographic groups (a black group AND white group) you wanted to compare scores of. In other words, you don't ask the white group if they feel blacks are racist (or visa versa), you measure the self-prejudices reported by the white group and compare it to the self-prejudices reported by the black group.

So true. Blacks are only 13% of the population. obama couldn't have been elected without a helluva lot of white votes.
