You have a right to insurance the same way you have a right to a gun. Where are you confused? If money is speech and I have a right to speech does that mean govt has to provide me money?

That is not what he said.

He said healthcare, in of itself is a right. Same as if he would have said, the gun itself is a right.

So when do we get free healthcare?

So basically, then it has always been a right?

This makes it even worse. Then the actual insurance itself needs to be free.

Nope. Nothing in the Constitution about a right to insurance.

On the other hand, the Second Amendment clearly states that I have the right to keep and bear arms.

Hey, there's that "right" that you have to purchase or Obama will make you pay if you don't purchase that "right".

Now, why do none of the rights that are actually included in the Constitution come with all these strings attached, Mike?

This thread reminds me why I don't visit this forum so often any more. One part of the government demands something utterly unreasonable and essentially says, "we will not allow the continuation of governance until we get what we want". Then, when the other side (which is the majority of government) doesn't cave, it's somehow their fault. Clay Bennett said it best:

The Republicans voted to fund EVERY part of the government, including Obamacare. They voted for a total continuation. All they asked for was to delay the Individual Mandate for (1) year exactly like Barack Obama and the Democrats did for their giant Crony Capitalist buddies.

The Democrats caused this shutdown and wanted it. They think the media will attack the Republicans and blame them as they have always done.

why did they add ANYTHING to the budget continuation bill?

why not just vote on a clean budget, free of all add-ons?

if the Republicans really want to end the shutdown, they will vote on a clean budget that has only govt. funding as part of it.

    nothing else.

you say so much yet say nothing at all. Speculation and conjecture and subterfuge does not make your loopy ramblings any more coherent. Resist the liberal urge to base you "conclusions" on feelings.

I wonder what would republicans say in 2003 if democrats would shut down the government unless Bush would repeal his signature tax cuts ......

Do you not understand why the employer mandate is so much less important than the individual mandate?

If Boner allows the House to vote on a clean CR, it will pass.

What is Boner afraid of? A few Tea Party terrorists?

The Tea Party are being legislative terrorists.

They hate ObamaCare more than they love America.
