Both the NY Times and the frustrated man are confusing Christie with actually being a Republican instead of a RINO (Republican In Name Only). If Christie runs in 2016 he should be shot down by the Iowa primaries. Republicans need to stop listening to Democrats giving them advice on winning elections. Are they stupid enough to actually believe Democrats want to HELP them WIN elections? That's like the defensive coordinator of one football team "advising" the offense on the other team what plays to run. Pure Ignorance. What ever candidate the Democrats recommend, should be set aside. Who ever they attack the most should be the candidate as that's the one they fear. The seem to hate Cruz and Paul, they should be the candidates in 2016.
It happens when politicians grand stand then with the publicity done, they just walk away which is what Christie did.
Anyone on my ignore list either refuses to post proof of their assertions or they hurl insults because they have no argument. I don't debate children.
I am sure some people are still hurting, it was a huge that devastated the coast. I have a house there. my cousin and her husband had a house that was on one of the islands, they were able to go back last Feb. Other than some boardwalks not being replaced, the area has mostly recovered. The recovery went well, I know, I live there.
I look forward to seeing Christie be savagely attacked by the far right and being taken out as a Presidential candidate. I always enjoy watching the Republicans attack their own, especially any Republican with actual administrative experience.
I remember back during the RNC, ALL the PF cons in here were accepting every word Christie said as gospel. And then he was seen on TV thanking Obama for doing the right thing for his State. Oh the horror! LMAO
I think the problem is some peoples definition of RINO. Its funny that they can call someone like Romney or Newt a true conservative and consider Christie a RINO. I could understand if their definition based further right and no one was a conservative but Paul or Cruz, but when you look at who they call conservative and who they call RINO, it really just depends on which direction the winds are blowing in Tealand.
I agree it is a matter of perspective and degrees. A good rule of thumb is anyone calling themselves a Republican that gets elected in a very liberal state like California (Schwarzenegger), Massachusetts (Romney) and New Jersey (Christie) has a 95% certainty of being a RINO.
I have no problem with how Christie handled things after Sandy. The only ones who did are the ones who are so steeped in partisan games that they cause me not to trust them with the well being of the country. - - - Updated - - - That's not necessarily true. We have a lot of trolls on here and if everyone put them on ignore then this place would be a lot better. As far as using it to filter information that you just don't like, then yeah. Totally with you there.
Sorry, I can't debate with anyone who uses childish insults as part of their debate tactics, they quickly end up on my ignore list. I negotiated labor contracts for 10 years, security was in the room and escorted out anyone who became insulting, hostile and raised their voice.
I would agree that a Republican elected in a liberal state is more likely of being a moderate but not necessarily a RINO. When a Republican governor in a liberal state makes more centrist decisions, he is representing his constituents. Gov. Snyder, Gov. Christie, and others have done a good job of balancing their own conservative views with the views of their citizens. It is a double standard to say someone like Ted Cruz is just doing what his constituents want, but blast someone like Christie for being more centrist in a liberal state. Christie is pretty straight forward on his own beliefs but governs based more on what the voters beliefs are. A guy like Cruz could never make it in a state like that because they would never put the voters wishes and beliefs above their own. I guess the proof is in the pudding when it comes down to it, his approval ratings are pretty good so he must be doing a job that makes the voters of his state happy. I could definitely see myself giving Christie some serious consideration should he run in 2016 or after, unfortunately I cannot imagine him getting past the primary because of the circus act required to win the social conservatives over.
The fact that Christie allowed another senator { Democrat } to be elected Corey Booker { who's been sucking up big time to the Obama WH } is proof that Christie put himself over party. He had the option to select a Republican to fill that seat.Even if only part time. But the Fat a$$ decided to play politics and appear above politics.Face it,Porker boy likes to talk big and tough. That is when he isn't busy pushing that fork around a nice sized plate of Eats.
Funny how a somewhat moderate conservative can have way higher approval ratings in a liberal state like New Jersey than a conservative like Rick Perry in a conservative state. Maybe he can be that unicorn of the Republican party...The common sense conservative who can get support from voters on both sides. He could win the general without the tea party endorsements but probably not the primary.
