most atheists I know have explored religions considerably more, and in a more in-depth way, than any christian I know of apart from one (and he readily admits 'making a decision for christ' because he doesn't want to die).

this whole 'debate' has occasionally struck me as akin to a SciFi convention. at most such events, you'll find roughly 50% are in civvies and there to indulge an interest in pop culture and/or people watch, the other half are in full costume and are there to live the dream. i.e., half are sane and like to watch, half are bonkers and think they are actually stormtroopers.
