Yep, that's right folks......typical liberal attitude of 'so as we say not as we do'. Those limousine liberals love to live behind gated communities and send their kids to private schools........while telling everyone else to do the opposite.....

Would you call Alabama a liberal state or a conservative state?

With that said many of Alabama's school districts that are in rural areas are segregated and why are they segregated in 2014?

When the federal gov't integrated the schools, whites built their own private schools and til this day most rural areas are still segregated.

 

When you learn to read you'll notice the story originally came from the AP.

You'll want to dismiss the story anyway because it fails to buttress your prejudices.

 

Whereas it was posted to buttress someone else's prejudices.

 

Are you disputing the facts?

 

If you travel to the western parts of NY and PA, outside of the really big cities like Pittsburgh, you will find very few minorities, especially blacks and hispanics. Go to the Walmart in Warren or Bradford or St. Mary's in Northwestern PA, and you will see almost no blacks or hispanics. They just don't live in those areas, the schools are pretty much lily white as a result. The same thing is true in much of the upper mid-west.

 

There's a good reason people who can afford to self-segregate do so. Here's a good example:

Obviously this father doesn't have the resources to send his White daughter to private school. The end result is a black mother, daughter and seven other 'teen' students come to her house and beat her.........I hope this father gets with clue and moves to an all White area.

 

True, but the number of students involved in comparison to New York State is small. Alabama cities are not that segregated, and according to the report that the article is based on, New York is much worse. (also, those rural counties in Alabama are the "purple" parts of the state).

 

Sounds wonderful......maybe I'll consider retiring there!

It would be, if it were true. Randy Newman wrote songs about the segregated northern cities 30 years ago.

I will admit liberals were the ones who attempted to battle against de facto as well as de jure segregation. The latter was easy - just pass some laws! The former has been intractable, because it entails changing human nature. Blockbusting didn't work, busing didn't work, rezoning didn't work. Nothing hypocritical about trying and failing, although it's easy for those who make no attempt at all, to mock those whose attempts fail.

 

This has always been the case. Liberals give lip service to minorities but they betray them constantly!

If you like snow, it isn't too bad. That area gets between 90 and 150 inches of snow per season. Housing is pretty cheap, it's a poor area with a lot of poverty.

 

I think school segregation by choice is fine. If people wish to have their children go to schools with a similar demographic, fine. I'm old enough to remember forced bussing in the 1960's. It was horrible. And THAT was a liberal experiment that should not have happened. Those black kids were scared to death. Liberals almost got them killed.

 

Those White kids were the ones scared to death..........my significant other was bussed into a school in the projects of Nashville in 5th Grade instead of attending an all white high school she could walk to.......she still talks about hearing the gunshots going off during school........and the black kids taunting the White kids with racial slurs......and jumping them in the hallways

The only thing that has changed is that the government cannot support your desire to lock yourselves up in tiny little white boxes.

You've always been free to do segregate yourselves as you please here, only now you just have to be sure you actually have the money to do it.

 

Therein lies the problem.....plenty of Whites are poor and don't have the resources to move away from a black influx or send their kids to public skools........so their kids end up being harassed, beaten, intimidated and raped. There was just a story out this week where a poor White girl was beaten in her own home after a black student's mother brought her daughter and seven other girls over to the White girl's home......the interview of the White girl's father made it clear that they didn't have the resources to move or put her in private school.......sad really.
