Go ahead... just keep trying to generate your own 'reality'. It's futile. - - - Updated - - - That's what I'm trying to make sure you understand.
You must be talking to the wrong person then, since I'm always grounded on facts. I was the first to foresee your alliance with the Neo-con, as a means to both secure political power, but also to silence any and all forms of opposition. From an individual perspective, were you not the one who Argued that States(and ultimately people) are to be designated as a piece of paper? I argued that States and People are organic, with their own will and that said will is the lynchpin to the Republic. Only a Statist would attempt to minimize the political will of people. Hence, Liberals are the biggest Statist and one shouldn't be fooled to think otherwise.
You don't see alot of flags at St. patrics day parades, I guess they are not hated anymore. You are talking about symptoms not causes. I guess if you have never had hate speech directed at you, you will not understand. I think the bigger question is, who did what to cause the flag to be a problem.
I love reading your posts. You show there is real power when truth is expressed with brevity. - - - Updated - - - Yes. This is America, not Mexico.
Typical prog, you make some statement that the political opposition is correct, and then immediately follow-up with a statement that the political opposition is really wrong. If I understand your position, the US flag should not be banned, but people just can't show the flag. We don't want to offend illegals in the US living off our welfare by letting them see they are actually not in Mexico. And you assign such noble motivations to those Mexican kids to think they just wanted to politely celebrate a Mexican army victory against the French in 1861. You and I both know that those Mexican kids were trolling the American kids, this thing didn't just start over Cinco de Mayo. The illegals reaped what they had sown.
Of course he wouldn't. That would be intellectually honest and logically consistent. Something he already illustrated in another thread yesterday that he has difficulty doing.
I already said the school was wrong for banning the flag. Not sure what else you want me to say. Still doesn't change the fact that the white kids only wore American flag T-shirts specifically as an attempt to troll other students.
Nothing really. The "other students" shouldn't be offended by American Patriotism. They live in AMERICA. Here's a nice idea for Liberals: Try going over to Quebec(Canada's French province), try speaking English and tell me how that goes for you. Odds are, not too well. We Americans only have ONE country, the rest of the world is not going to kowtow to American outlooks of life. If we lose America, that's it. We'll have to integrate into their cultures, and I can assure you the rest of the world would see to our integration, either willingly or by force. So Liberals, if it came to it are you willing to sacrifice your own cultural identity? It's easy to make others throw it away, but what about when YOU have to do it?
Heh, if that's what you want to tell yourself. I have a German co-worker that has a German flag sticker on the back of her car. Not an American flag, but a German flag. Right wingers/white nationalists like yourself aren't really bothered by anything like that though. It's only a problem when perceived non white people do it.
Again, what was the point of the white kids wearing a shirt with the American flag on it on Cinco de Mayo unless it was to troll some of the Mexican students? Unless of course you can prove that they regularly wear those type of shirts, but I HIGHLY doubt they do.
Why shouldn't they? They're Americans! Nothing "trollish" about it. Nothing about the shirts should have offended them. Quite to the contrary, you should be offended at the lack of American Patriotism in this country! We'd sooner recognize foreign holidays than our own native born? Seriously? One day, this'll bite us all in the ass. I'm of the belief this generation of America wouldn't have triumphed in WW2. We don't have anywhere near the patriotism our forefathers had.
lol, whatever you say. If anything, wearing the American flag on your shirt only specifically to get a rise out of other people is pretty damn un-American. If these kids were truly "American patriots", they'd be wearing these shirts often, but something tells me they don't/ - - - Updated - - - If Mexicans start forcing whites to sit in the back of the bus just like southern conservatives of the past did to blacks, then we could make a comparison.
like white americans only celebrate st Patricks day only in ireland? Or October fest only in germany or mardi gras only in france...
LOL, they aren't racist, eh? I think the real problem is conservatives don't give a crap about racism unless it's directed at white people.
they're forcing them to wear certain clothing though aren't they - - - Updated - - - i dont see any irish people crying when someone wears an american flag on st patricks day.
Depends. If they were wearing it only to get a rise out of people, yes, it would bother me. - - - Updated - - - Oh yeah, what thread was that?
Point to a moment where those celebrating offended other nationalities in America. As a American-German, I can tell you particularly that Ocktoberfest is about celebrating American-German culture, a successful integration that took the better part of 60 years. There could be no more of a patriotic holiday than this one.
