Why? Because of what I stated; Because many who practice behaviors which can be detrimental to one's health are going to be a burden to society. I don't personally care what other people do, but when they do things which become a cost to society, they need to be aware of their impacts instead of being arrogant and having a sense of entitlement.

Me choosing an insurance company cannot be compared to a human behavior which can be a burden to society.

Smoking weed is harmful to one's health...ignoring this fact is denial.

I never talked about pot and prison? If the laws are not reasonable, then change the laws...don't remove the laws.

Drinking alcohol is a burden on society. Pot is in the same category. Do you actually believe the use of weed will decrease if it becomes legal?

Why change the law when we can remove it?

I live in Massachusetts and POT has been decriminalized. The Cop's can give you a $100 Ticket if the catch you with one ounce or less but since it is not a criminal offense they CANNOT EVEN ASK YOU FOR YOUR I.D.!!!!

Thus the Mass Police have stated that they will not enforce any Pot Laws for a person having possesion of one ounce or less thus it is basically LEGAL!!!

    Result?

Less Pot related crime....massive corporate investment into Hapshire College and University of Massacusetts, MIT...etc....Harvard Medical College....for developing Pot with high THC levels for use in Canser Patients underging Chemo as POT helps a Chemo Patient eat and relieves pain.

I personally do not like smoking it as it slows my mind down far too much and I need to think quickly and conciseley.

Every argument I've ever heard or read for legalizing marijuana was from stoners. All they care about is getting high legally. If it was really about economic benefits, it probably would have been legalized a long time ago.

No, the real reason why it's still illegal is because only potheads want it legal.

Exactly, they are in utter denial about the negative consequences of using this drug. They are permanently damaging the brains of impressionable children who believe their lies all out of a selfish interest to get high.

Even if it was the most benign substance on Earth, ingesting hot and dry air into our mouth, throat and lungs cannot be a good thing long term. Adding a chemical effect, from pot or anything, just exacerbates the potential health issues. Then we have compatibility with each individual which is a coin toss because we don't see the effects early on, we are not aware of damage being done, and prolonged use is questionable. Some reading this are chuckling at my comments, and I don't really care since everyone makes their own choices, but if and when these choices are a burden to the nation, then the issue becomes arrogance and entitlement...
