Ignoring the laughable agendas of the hyper-partisan, self-righteous pantywaists who need to pretend that every issue is a matter of politics in which their imaginary bêtes noires are hypocritical, depraved, and/or don't floss every day, it's good to see the elitist NFL bosses reflecting standards of public decency, however belatedly. The cynical perspective would be that, unless they can keep their audience happy, they lose money. But, morality aside, it's still the right thing to do. After all,
If the NFL is cutting him off, I wouldn't be surprised if Ms. Palmer has the marriage annulled. I'm sure she didn't enter this abusive relationship without her own expectations of maintaining a certain lifestyle.
Well, Harbaugh and the staff said the next player on the team who does something dumb will be cut during the offseason. It stopped but this being released today was the last straw for them.
now what is she going to do.... probably hadn't worked a day in her life. It's amazing how much abuse a woman is willing to put up with as a tradeoff for lifestyle.
Obviously they got tipped off he would be indefinitely suspended...at first it sounded like a tough stand
So Roger Gooddell suspends him for two games, than the public gets to see the video and he essentially bans him. WTF, shouldn't Goodell lose his job too for his complicity and lying? I mean the NFL had to have seen this video, surely the billion dollar NFL wasn't blind sided by this!
Lol.....I knew what you meant. I was actually referring to Jim Harbaugh. When you said "Harbaugh", I naturally though of Jim, as John is so mellow in comparison that I often forget he is a coach....or even related to Jim.
No kidding. Not supporting Ray Rice, but he can fight this challenge and say it's double jeopardy (it's included in their CBA). New evidence or not (and we all know it's BS that this is the first time the NFL saw this video), Rice has strong legs to stand on to fight the suspension. However, the PR backlash to him and any team that signs him would be enormous.
The number of violent crimes that pro football players are involved in shows them to more like a gang of thugs than sportsmen. There should be some form of a sociological study of the situation.
Agreed. Very glad this guy got the ax. He absolutely should have. Let's hope his wife moves on and he gets some psychological help. Also, it's good the team did what they did. These situations will never change unless these kinds of measures are taken. Rice does not deserve to be in the NFL.
BIG MONEY! (And after all , 'she took it' and married him as 2 FOX hosts pointed out today. Oh yeah, and it's BIG MONEY! The left has been screaming about this for decades. BIG MONEY, power and influence are NEVER A MATCH for any woman who gets IN THE WAY! Prime example. One of Bush's top White House attorneys, beat the (*)(*)(*)(*) out of his wife, smashing her face in with a heavy flashlight crushing her face and when that didn't kill her, tried to strangle her. 4 years later, he finally makes into a courtroom after checking himself into a mental health clinic and out of the same, keeping the CT judicial system at bay firing attorney after attorney. BUSH'S SPOKESMAN when asked about when it happened back 2010?? We are saddened to hear the news," said David Sherzer, spokesman for George W. Bush. "This is a personal matter and we will not be commenting on it." Incidentally, he was FOUND GUILTY OF ATTEMPTED MURDER in JULY. So what happens? The judge sets bail for him.
Oh ok... after I posted that I wondered if you were thinking beyond Michael Sam. It hit me that Dallas is sort of known as the host for criminal players, lol. My bad for assuming.. sorry for the errant reply.
Like 'Hollywood', the NFL, NBA and MLB are essentially separate and distinct 'sovereign nations', They have their own laws and moral codes. Their own methods of 'law enforcement and punishment'. Thus, we here in America or wherever you are located haven't the right to question their motives and methods. We must 'respect' their sovereignty and right to govern themselves however they see fit. Maybe, one day, the awesome might of the United Nations will take notice of these 'rogue nations' and step up and correct whatever injustices they perceive. Until then just pop your corn, pop open those brews, sit back in your recliners and cheer for your favorite teams.
Since we're going down memory lane we should visit a certain Clinton rubout of Vince Foster on July 20 1993 in Virginia. Carry on pal !
She can't press charges because the full video clearly shows her hitting Ray Rice first. She clocked in two punches before he laid her out with one really big one. He should have left her abusive ass long before any of this ever happened. They both deserve each other, in my opinion.
