Funny to see the liberals come out and defend incompetent governing. The OP is wrong, this will only strengthen their resolve to defend incompetence while claiming we need more government. I guess if it is incompetent now, more will make it better. Loony.

The only thing the left ever seems to learn is that finding the right person to run their utopian vision isn't easy.

The ability to self deceive is amazing. For instance, my lib Sister calls any Democrat president that ends up screwing up or unpopular as republicans in reality. Funny but true.

How many people die of the common flu per year in the United States?

How many people with the flu do you have to contact everyone they ever contacted and isolate them because it is so deadly to everyone?

All of these posts defending Obama and big government indicate that maybe liberals are lemmings and follow what their dear leader says rather than being able to learn.

Sigh! The CDC is under nominal control of the Executive Branch which in turn is under the control of whatever Party's president is warming the seat of the Oval Office at the time. This is why Obama has the authority to fire most administrative heads of most government agencies. So forth and so on and etcetera, etcetera, etcetera . . . oh . . . and . . . sheesh!

That reminds me of the popular phrase of a half dozen years ago, "Pimpin' ain't easy." All flash and trash and image over substance, and that's Barack Obama to the last decimal place.

Will the Left ever learn from their mistakes? Well, support for Obama is now in the gutter and so at least some Left of Center voters now realize that they (twice) made a positively huge mistake voting for Barack Obama; the all image and no substance president. So at least that's something.

Our ability to contain Ebola through contact tracing is why it is less dangerous than the Flu. Sure, people who do catch Ebola will be in for a fight of their lives; however, most people in America have a near zero chance of catching the virus. People do have a good chance of catching the flu every year, and thousands die every year from it. The same could be said of car crashes. Even lightning strikes killed 23 people last year where Ebola so far has been contracted by 2 people in the US.

They have no common sense. They can't see the forest for the trees. They "think" with their feelings and not with their brains. They rely on HuffPo or Daily Kos or Crooksandliars or some other lib outfit for their daily talking points. They are like robots.

They certainly have generated the impression of being non-thinkers who live for emoting ever since 2008 and the utterly meaningless phrase of "Hope and Change!" rolled around to generated legs tingling Obamagams on an hourly basis. Regardless of their public denials it was obvious from the nature of their fanatical devotion to a first term U.S. senator with ZERO meaningful national level experience or any leadership or management history that they really did secretly think of Barack as their . . . Political Messiah.

But now? Ahhhh . . . considering that his polling numbers are consistently rolling around in the political gutter, now . . . not so much but -- it's too damn late! Obama has already done a great deal of harm to this nation and the sorry Golfer-in-Chief still has two more years in which to FINISH urinating all over the United States of America.

So gee thanks leftwingers; thanks for cursing this nation with a president so bad and so incompetent that he makes Jimmy Carter and G.W. Bush both look like good presidents in comparison. Thanks a bunch!

Obama is ultimately responsible for anything any part of government does. That just comes with the territory, but this was not a "failure" on anyones part. Things happen. No one has absolute control of anything. It's one...death. But you're trying to make it out to be some monumental failure. It's lame.

Really, the Texas hospital was a government hospital?

I hadn't heard that. Sorry for being so silly.

Look in the mirror for obfuscation.

LOL, tell us again about how the Texas hospital was a government hospital.

    - - - Updated - - -

And who knew the incompetent Texas hospital was a government hospital?

I learn things from conservatives every day.

    - - - Updated - - -

I hear you. How many times have I seen conservatives call bush a "liberal." Funny but true.

The CDC approved the infected nurse's air travel. Tell us again how competent the government is?

Yet another emotional, feeling based rant by conservatives who rely on Fox or Breitbart or the NY Post or some other RW propaganda outfit for their daily talking points. They are like robots.

(Shrug) Whereas I find all this across the board auto-excuse making for all things Obama administration in nature lame; just as I did in regards to the G.W. Bush administration during his two terms of office. Philosophical posting consistency regardless of the Party in charge of the Executive Branch. I know that it's a wild concept, but there you have it . . . MY criteria.

    (My bold)

A perfect media metaphor. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lemming#Misconceptions

    "Misconceptions[edit]

    ...
"Lemmings have become the subject of a widely popular misconception that they commit mass suicide when they migrate. It is not a mass suicide, but the result of their migratory behavior. Driven by strong biological urges, some species of lemmings may migrate in large groups when population density becomes too great. Lemmings can swim and may choose to cross a body of water in search of a new habitat. In such cases, many may drown if the body of water is so wide as to stretch their physical capability to the limit. This fact, combined with the unexplained fluctuations in the population of Norwegian lemmings, gave rise to the misconception.[8]

"The misconception of lemming "mass suicide" is long-standing and has been popularized by a number of factors. It was well enough known to be mentioned in "The Marching Morons", a 1951 short story by Cyril M. Kornbluth. In 1955, Disney Studio illustrator Carl Barks drew an Uncle Scrooge adventure comic with the title "The Lemming with the Locket". This comic, which was inspired by a 1953 American Mercury article, showed massive numbers of lemmings jumping over Norwegian cliffs.[9][10] Even more influential was the 1958 Disney film White Wilderness, which won an Academy Award for Documentary Feature, in which staged footage was shown with lemmings jumping into certain death after faked scenes of mass migration.[11] A Canadian Broadcasting Corporation documentary, Cruel Camera, found the lemmings used for White Wilderness were flown from Hudson Bay to Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where they did not jump off the cliff, but were in fact launched off the cliff using a turntable.[12][13]"

    (My emphasis)

Lots more info @ the URL.

It's amusing that most of the proliferation of this bad idea in the US can be laid @ Disney's feet. & that - the so-called documentary (it won an Academy Award - it's gotta be good!) that stamped it into the malleable minds that watched too much TV & too many movies (Disney owns ABC, & frequently recycles their old inventory from the Disney vault - it's v. cheap programming when you can run it endlessly, if @ staggered schedules.)

& the reference to dear leader is also inappropriate. If the cant is to invoke Kim Jong-un of N. Korea - it's a bad fit. He's fat & presumably physically lazy, on the poverty & starvation of his people; Prexy Obama is lean & looks fit enough, while presiding over a country rife with hypertension, pre-diabetic, overweight, etc. (Due, I'm sure, to the miracles of kinda unfettered agriculture, with all the seed, Roundup, chem fertilizers, cheap labor, yadda-yadda-yadda. Monsanto, AMD, Dow Chemical, DuPont, take a bow.)
