The result? An offensive statement calling the rapper a "pimp" who exploits his wife. Passages in Huckabee's forthcoming book about today's "fractious" American society, God, Guns, Grits, and Gravy, due out Jan. 20, touch on "popular culture provocations from Jay Z and Beyonce," according to the book's description on Amazon. U.S. World News & World Report published a handful of quotes Thursday ahead of the book's release, one of which focused on Jay Z and Beyonce's 2014 Grammys performance of "Drunk in Love," which Huckabee compares to "foreplay": 'My reaction: Why? Beyonce is incredibly talented - gifted, in fact. She has an exceptional set of pipes and can actually sing. She is a terrific dancer - without the explicit moves best left for the privacy of her bedroom. Jay Z is a very shrewd businessman, but I wonder: Does it occur to him that he is arguably crossing the line from husband to pimp by exploiting his wife as a sex object?' Jezebel's Rebecca Rose served up a response to Huckabee's remarks, writing: 'Jay Z is "arguably" a pimp because his wife is empowered enough to embrace her sexuality. OK. Because if she wasn't married to Jay Z she'd have to followed her real career dreams and become a knitting instructor at Boise Community College. Sure.' This isn't the first time Huckabee has been involved in a critique about the superstar singer's performances. Rachel Campos-Duffy, former "Real World" cast member and wife of conservative Wisconsin congressman Sean Duffy, went on Huckabee's radio show and talked about Beyonce's 2013 Super Bowl Halftime Show. IMO: As Mike Huckabee, yet another republican 2016 presidential runner surfaces to declare his presidential aspirations, stops for a moment to throw a barb at Jay Z concerning his wife, and calling him a 'pimp' for exploiting his wife as a sex object, probably cost him a few votes. Beyonce and Jay Z are the unquestionable King and Queen of American Hierarchy of King and Queendom, and Kim and Kanye West are their maids in waiting! So what else is new? Crap like throwing barbs at entertainers and their husbands can lose you the votes of the entire Northern Hemisphere but we never expect too much from Mike Huckabee, eh? Like, he is out pimping for his new book sales as we speak.....

Assuming the OP links to HuffyPost, no way would I click or read. But.....That chick does a fine job exploiting herself. The shame is that young girls emulate and idolize her. So much trash out there, so little time. Huck has no reason to comment on her. If he can't find anything more interesting than her to comment on, he needs to shut his trap and go away.

He's yet another Repub pol who realized his shtick is more marketable as right wing radio entertainment than actual political governance.
