He will be remembered as the most un-American or anti-American President ever, along with his cabinet.
Highest corporate profits in history Ending Bush's Great Recession Greatest Wall Street activity in years Highest consumer confidence in 11 years Ending Bush's two imperialist wars Best president economic wise, ever No foreign terrorist attack in USA soil unlike Bush Nobel Prize Winner!
True - there is a lot of anger in this particular poster. But his hate filled rants are a reflection of the type of thinking practiced by those on the radical far right. By allowing such hate on this forum it serves to prove a point that it is the moderates and progressives who are more reasoned and conciliatory in their posts and beliefs while the far right lacks the sense of discoursing in such a rational manner.
Not to put too heavy of a spin on it, but the economy was shedding more than 700,000 jobs per month. The country was in an absolute free fall by the time Bush went back to do what he does best (wear a cowboy hat and cut brush). He also spent $3,000,000,000,000 (and God know how many GIs) on a couple wars he started but was too gutless to wave off on his own. But damned if he didn't look swashbuckling on that carrier landing, what with that helmet tucked up under his arm 'n all.
Now when was the Boston Marathon again? I seem to recall that one of the brothers was 18 when he moved to the US, the other was 14. And neither had ever tried to become US citizens. I think I would count that as "foreign", as would most others. And let's see... Abdullatif A. Aldosary, an Iraqi who bombed the Social Security building in Arizona. Faisal Shahzad, a Pakistani born recent citizen who tried to detonate a car bomb in Times Square (the bomb failed to detonate). Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, a Nigerian who tried to blow up a plane on approach to Detroit (explosives failed to detonate). Care to try again?
He enacted a healthcare law that was a Republican idea, initially. He asked the GOP towork with him during that process, and they took themselves out of it. The GOP have no one but themselves to blame for not getting anything they want.
If that is true then why did the nation show overwhelming support for conservatives in the last election? If it sucks to be us Ill take that over losing control of congress. The leftist blogs with fuzzy math aren't helping the woman that has to pay 400 bucks extra a month now for healthcare now. The only math she needs to know is money for her children - 400 bucks = see you at the voting booth.
Because traditional politics sees the incumbent party hammered in the congressional elections as only the right in this case are motivated to turn out. You know this. The left will win the debate over Obama care. Obamas legacy is secure. He is already more popular than Gwb.
Really, Ive heard even the staunchest liberal democrats I talk to now admit that electing Obama was a huge mistake. This usually takes place when reality sets in and they realize their pockets aren't immune to liberalism. Obama will be recorded as one of the worst Presidents we have ever had. He has lied to us about Obamacare, and made one unimaginably bad decision after another as well as re-divided the nation on skin color. He took the single best opportunity to unite the country as the "post" racial President and instead chose the path to be the "most" racial President. A rock sitting in the oval office would have made less mistakes than this President. - actually correction....to Obama they aren't mistakes. To his credit he told us he would do all of the things he is doing. Only a few of us were smart enough to understand what that meant.
I think he'll be remembered for the ACA. Like it or hate it, it is going to have a longer life and is of larger impact than any other Obama initiative. A positive possibility is that most people come to credit it with making their healthcare even a possibility. About the only thing of more impact I think could end up attributed to him is if we get militarily invaded and our people enslaved by a foreign power. Unlikely.
I will remember him as the first African-American President of the USA who was hated by many for the color of his skin. How's that?
Obama's legacy: 1) Helped get rid of Osama BinLaden 2) Helped save Genaral Motors and by extention all the jobs that went along with it. 3) Helped save the country from a Depression worse than the one seen in the 1930s, by the govt bailouts he extended to banks, etc. 4) Helped implement a universal health care system that every President since FDR had tried to implement. 5) Displayed beautiful restraint and patience while facing some of the worst hostility and ugliness I've ever seen thrown at a public official. Yes, President Obama will have a great legacy. I'm glad I lived to see it.
Wonder what will happen between now and 2016 to change the present climate of anti Dem voting? The cost of Obamacare will go down? Folks will be excited to see their tax refund withheld by the IRS because they got subdidies to help pay for their hc ins? Future looks dim for the Dims. Prob a good thing they're so deep in denial.
He was an immigrant so that this is not a foreign terrorist attack. Right wing hero Bush allowed Arabian terrorists from AQ to attack the WTC. This on top of all the messes he created which have since been reversed by a far more intelligent President in Mr Obama.
