"On the conservative front, we never book conservative pundits. We stick with conservative politicians, sometimes high profile news anchors, and sometimes religious leaders".

Perhaps they were included in "high profile news anchors".

    Tell that to

    Bill Kristol
    John Bolton
    Newt Gingrich
    Bill O'Reilly
    Cliff May
    Mike Huckabee
    Dick Armey
    Donald Rumsfeld
    Michael Steele

and that's what I could find without actually going through the episodes and checking guest names.

Did you even read my post? He clearly made an exception for conservative politicians and high profile news anchors.

Doubt it. My bet is early retirement. The guy is 52 and has kids in grade school and a boat load of money to survive well into his 90s. Probably just wants time with his family.

Bill Kristol isn't a high profile news anchor. Neither is Cliff May. If I took the time to go back through 15 years of daily show guests, I'm sure I could find more.

Most of the people on your list are either politicians or high profile news anchors. The producer of the Daily Show would probably know more about who they bring on than you do.

    Most is not all.

And maybe, if that letter is to be believed. I can't find anything about it other then what that Steven guy has said.

    If only.

The Right can have their Cowboy Actor President. I think the Left would be perfectly happy to have a Satirist Comedian President.

Stewart spun off Colbert and several others who are twice as funny. They won't have any trouble replacing him. But if they were seriously trying to replace Stewart's quick wit and comedic timing, they'd interview Hannity. Sean cracks me up. And he does it almost without trying.

President? No way- but I could see him as a legislator or state level executive.

Good, just hope he's not joining an actual news organization and taking his hordes with him.

They already gave that gig to Stephen Colbert.

Where are Liberals going to get their fake news now with Jon Stewart and Brian Williams out? Well, there is always CBS, CNN, and ABC.

What a week! Does it get any better? First pretty-boy liberal Brian Williams gets tossed out on his ass by NBC for lying, and now Jon Stewart is on his way out. If they need another liberal "comedy" act to replace Stewart, why don't they consider replacing him with Candy Crowley? All she'd have to do is waddle up on stage and the audience would just collapse in paroxysms of laughter!

Good thing about Candy is that if you need a place to hide from the tough questions, you just go behind her :)

    hahahahaha...

Jon Stewart -- for some reason, liberals take his word for gold even though he, himself, says most of the stuff he is saying is bs.... hahahahahahah...

Sometimes, it seems as though Tom Fitz can't see one thread from the Right without adding some outburst of Obama Defense Syndrome, either!

Tom you're whole. You're sufficient. You're admirable, intelligent, valuable and deserving. You don't need to try and uphold your self-worth by defending the largely indefensible.

I respect Jon because while I think that he really IS lost in the fogged, indefensible world of liberal thinking, (even though he says his stuff is bs, I think he believes it's legit)--he is still able to pull his head out of the muck and adhere to what is true from time to time. This is evidenced no better anywhere than when he's on Bill O'Reilly's show.

Those two not only have respect for one another, but I seriously believe that they actually have some affection for each other. And I really respect both of them for that.

Most liberals can't seem to clear their heads and deal with truth as often as Jon can.

I agree. I think that is one of the reasons he's leaving. The liberal/left wing people love him...In moments of clarity, he's probably very surprise how so many idiots take what he says seriously... he knows that some of the stuff he says is bullsheitt... he even says so... But liberals keep on taking him seriously.. He's a comedian.. he even says he's a comedian.. But liberals keep on putting him on a "truth" pedestal. I guess after a while, defending the indefensible or entertaining morons get a bit tiring... Also, since the tv show is a liberal tv show... with all the stuff that the liberals/democratics have done to hurt the economy/nation/etc... There was no place for the ratings to go, but down... Good idea to jump ship now.

Why not try to bring back John Oliver, I think it would be a smooth transition.

Did your clown tell you that? Or did you think it all up yourself :) hahhahahahahahaha..... I bet Jon stewart just got tired of telling everyone... "hey, I'm just a comedian... I am an entertainer.. don't take me so seriously!!!"... :) For example, I bet Jon Stewart doesn't think Bill Orielly (or most republicans are evil and filled with hate).. but watching Jon's show, most liberals are getting that impression..
