And yeah, considering what people often get for many lesser offenses, that prison term seems extraordinarily short. But then again, this country tends to lock people up too much for too long for having done too little.

I'll have to go back and find it, but a few people got quite angry that I would even ask such a thing. And I agree with you. I guarantee you that no one would be asking us to "understand" the man's POV in that situation.

 

If it's wrong to do it to one gender then why shouldn't it be wrong for both? It can't alright for one group and not okay for another.

I think you misunderstood. Someone asked earlier why he didn't do anything in self defense while she was ripping his balls off. You replied that you were wondering the same thing.

I said, if he had done anything in self-defense, she would simply claim that he hit her first, she'd be off the hook and he'd be in jail.

 

Ohhhh. Gotcha. I still think if it was a quid pro quo match they should both go to jail.

 

IN this case, lucky for him that he couldn't fight back. Otherwise, I think she would have gotten away with it.

And I told you that I cannot understand why someone would mutilate another person for that reason. There are laws in place to deal with such things.

 

Because of the circumstances that lead up to it. Doesn't mean its ok in either scenario, but as far as a comparison its quite silly. Breaking up is a normal part of life. Having your sex life filmed and displayed for all to see with out your consent is not a normal part of life.

 

That's not what he was talking about. He was asking that if a woman released a sex tape without her male partner's knowledge, would we be expected to "understand" if the guy threw acid on her genitals? Very doubtful.
