The topic is that some Republican flunkie lied about Hillary. Shocking! Shocking I tell you. Such a thing has never happened in the entire history of the Democratic party!

I don't think that ANYONE has argued that democrats don't lie. But if Republicans can get into a total flip out over any democrat caught lying, what's good for the goose, is certainly good for the gander.

Let me make a prediction for you, with the nearly two dozen or so republican nominees on deck, they will boil it down to the one that is least offensive to everyone across the republican board, and they will lose to the Democratic nominee. Why? Because they won't be extreme right wing enough for the mainstream conservative movement as it stands today, they will appear weak, and so many conservatives won't bother to vote.

Now to the statements from both of you.

I absolutely agree with you in the strategy to portray any investigation of Hillary as nothing more than personal attacks. The 2 of you are following the "play book" which is posted on all leftists sites.

The general public is more interested in the size of Kim Kardashians rear end than in even paying any attention to what is going on within the country.

That makes it quite simple for the Democrat party and the media/Hollywood to put forth the message that the GOP is mean and attacking Hillary.

It is the only play that the Democrat party has and IMO, it will work given the apathy of the general public.

The objective is the WH and Democrats must, and are, rallying around Hillary. No other Democrat candidate will get the WH for you. On the flip side, the GOp is playing right into the hand of the Democrat party by having about 67 primary candidates, that it's gotten to the point of being nothing more than a joke, and the Democrat party is cashing in on exploiting that.

Sprinkle in some misrepresentation of the words by Trump, have the media inist that other GOPers denounce the problem of illegal aliens and it's a clear path for Hillary.

Finally, paint the GOP as being angry and attacking Hillary and the low information voters are wrapped up with a bow.

The GOP had best understand this quickly and posts like yours are examples of the strategy of deflect and attack.

Frankly, the GOP should simply ignore the Democrat party and speak to the people about the greatness of the country and never once talk about the failure of Obama and the liberal experiment. The best that the GOP can hope for is those who regret their Obama vote will just stay home despite believing they are Democrats. Those folks won't vote GOP but they need to stay home. If the GOP plays into the Democrat's hands and allows themselves to be portrayed as attacking Hillary, then the low information voters will go out and vote simply to "protect" their Democrat candidate.

 

Well, seems it's going to be Hillary and Jeb.

And I would venture to say, just as many Democrats detest Hillary, as Republicans detest Bush.

All those people, from both camps, are going to want a third choice. Another option. A "way out".

And right now, there isn't one. Trump may still go independent, but the net result is he'll take votes away from the Republicans.

The ideal solution would be if yet another self-financing wealthy businessman were to enter the race as an independent. At least then it would be Clinton v Bush with two ways out.
