    were gonna close getmo down at some point, the war was wrapping up before ISIS came along and rekindled it, we have to release the POWs we captured at some point.... like it or not

    No, he's a Sargent in the US Army and subject to all regulations and the UCMJ. He can be forced to take a drug test and face charges if testing positive.

    There were Americans sent out specifically to find him who were killed while looking for him. Now these 5 Taliban will be out plotting and trying to kill more Americans because of him. He is a total waste.

    No, he probably should not. Bergdahl, however, abandoned his post, deserted and went looking for the enemy BEFORE he could achieve any heroic status.

    Joining the army by itself commands no heroic recognition. People do it for all kinds of reasons... free tuition, military benefits and sometimes even from a pure calling to serve one's country.

    Simple, really.

    Oh please. Facts are facts. No word games are at play here by me, just your avoidance and denial of the facts. No honest discussion can be had so long as you are being disingenuous.

    BTW, BB wasn't dodging the draft or simply going AWOL.

    Dodging the draft can be many things and for one it is an act of defiance against the federal government and the country and it's laws, but that act by itself does not rise to the level of a traitorous act.
