So he should have just billy-clubbed her or go to the TASER? And what would gudiance couselor have accomplished, the perp wasn't obeying the orders off the teacher to get up an vacate the classroom, she refused to even obey the orders of the uniformed security guard, I have no reason to believe she would have listened to anyone else. We are instilling this attitude of disrespect for lawful authority in the generations coming up and this is a result of that.

So if it had been male/male or female/female then it would have been OK?

Certainly not by picking the kid up and throwing him when he's not resisting.

How would you transport a student who was unconscious, drop them out the window? There are ways to remove people, even those who ARE resisting, without potentially hurting them

You mean he didn't TASER her first? Or maybe pepper spray her first?

I wondered about the cell phones in class as well. Any electronics on our person when I was in school and it was taken up until the end of the day. That was in the 90's. Shoot, we'd even get an F on a test if we were caught with a calculator.

You're just arguing for the sake of arguing because you are substituting evidence, logic, and facts with wishful thinking.

I get that - I've seen (as you probably have) cops literally execute people too on video people have taken. I must however attempt to not generalize that all cops are law breakers and murderers because that is far more accurate. I don't know where you live but it may be that your police force is corrupt and it's not just a few bad apples.

I saw her being uncooperative. In my view of this incident only, they cancel out which is why I made my statement about commensurate action.

It's clear, the cop should have begged and pleaded with the student. Maybe he could have offered her some candy if she complied.

But hey, this is what you get with entitled brats these days. Can't hurt their wittle feelings.

I suppose you have proof? She wasn't thrown out of the chair. She was plucked and rolled away.

Oh please. Then you have both hands full, and that's not a risk police take. He did exactly as he should have done.

No, it was really easy, actually. All he needed to do with lift up the chair with her in - with the help of the teacher. Either she would have sat there or she would have physically escalated. Then, he would have been justified. ;-)

That's not what I wrote. I'm not a fan of handing obstinance with violence which is exactly what this was. Lifting the girl out of her chair, laying her on the ground and cuffing her would have more than sufficient. His last action was little more than macho muscle flexing.

I'll tell you this much, if I was the parent of this child/student who was thrown around like a rag doll by this officer, you can bet my ass would be down at the school or precinct with a fist coming this officer's way. Just because you have a badge doesn't give you the right to physically harm a child who wasn't physically harming anybody else.

Some of you posters are unbelievable! Watch the video. You will see that SHE was kicking and kneeing so hard, that SHE FELL FROM HER DESK!!!!!

    Police Brutally Drags Student

    https://youtu.be/ECnkuJ43oTo

Look close and you will see that she was kicking and kneeing him, turning the desk over herself. He then did what he was supposed, turned her over to handcuff her to remove her per school policy.

Yet another case of media pandering to the #BlackLivesMatter thugs.

The video does not show what actually transpired prior to the incident, so no one knows what this obviously troubled girl was doing that warranted physical violence. The cop did not just exercise force...he used violence. There is a difference. You have no reason to believe that someone better trained in the area of psychology might have had a better less violent result? Okay...whatever.

Not to be the old guy...but if a police officer had been called to remove me from a classroom, my Dad would have beaten me wth a belt when I got home. Getting thrown out of a chair would have been the least of my worries. .

This style of parenting is no longer in fashion and it's more about talking, reasoning and not physicality.

I was afraid of my Dad and the consequeces of acting out. My Dad did not pretend to be my buddy, he was the authoirity in the household. Respecting authority starts in the household...whether you have one parent or two parents...they are in charge.

By the time this young lady in the chair refusing to move, has reached this point in her life, I'm guessing this disrespect for authority started in her home and was never corrected. She learned to be obstinate and push the boundaries with little to no consequences.

We're seeing her face consequences for being uncooperative, for having an attitude towards authority. This sort of lesson should have been taught to her a long time ago...if parents were allowed to instill fear in their kids for physical punishment.

I'm not saying I was raised perfectly, but I understand situations require an authority and in school your teacher runs the show, they are your "boss." Respecting your "boss" needs to start very early in life, and it starts with respecting your parent(s).

You're losing valuable learning time because of one disrespectful brat. There's no telling what she said to that teacher before the teacher decided to call on the police. Teachers normally have quite a lengthy fuse. I can guarantee you she said that somebody better get they phone out and start recoding when the cop start to grab holt of her.

It doesn't matter, you know that because of the seriousness of hatred towards police today, there's almost always going to be a physical altercation after initial resistance. The girl wasn't hurt so there should be no issue here.

No that isn't what the law determines to be acceptable force. That is your opinion, barbaric as it is, but that is not what the law dictates. This is, most likely the reason why the officer has already been charged with excessive force in the past. Yes when a crime has been committed officers can use whatever force is "NECESSARY", and way too many officers believe that means anything is acceptable, but no crime was committed in this case. This according to everyone involved should not have even been the officers duty at the school. He is just a dumb ass that has allowed his authority to go to his head.

I have no doubt he will not be charged with excessive force, but only because the minor sustained no measurable injuries. If she would have had her neck broken or been given a concussion, the odds of the officer being held accountable would have been much more likely, and even then he would have only gotten a slap on the wrist.

These officers are not in this environments to be the disciplinarian, they are there to assure that crimes that are committed on school campuses are attended to in accordance with the law, and to assure the safety of teachers and students on campus. He should have reminded the school officials of this when they requested him to come in and do their job for them.

ThIs time isn't that special. It is too important to just diffuse the situation, and then it is over. Now because of it, more and more interruptions will occur.
