Greetings. I am new to this forum and have a specific purpose for participating on this site. I hope to accomplish my goals and make the connections necessary to do that. I have experience with government systems and may see things from a whole different perspective than one might expect. I look forward to increasing my knowledge and learning.

Welcome to the forum Cass. I think you will love it here.

After teaching English in Quito, Ecuador for over a year I returned home to Nova Scotia, Canada determined to become more socially and politically active. Seeing real poverty with our own eyes does tend to have that effect on us.

I did campaign for public office three times already and intend to do so again in the future.

One of the ideas that seemed to grab the attention of a significant number of people in the part I was involved in was......

Welcome Comrade. The Party congratulates the Revolutionary zeal your noble words show.

Just kidding, or maybe not if you ARE like that. In any case welcome and let us know what your positions are post haste. We need all kinds.

I just posted a reply to Longknife that I think may resonate with your goals for participation in politicalforum?

Have you got experience as politician? If yes, I wonder where ... and at which level ... the worse mistake you should make is just to expose your curriculum in a public forum. Be a politician from the beginning: enter the room keeping a low profile ... look naive, don't declare not to be naive!

I saw a great example of somebody doing just this about a year or so ago when Dr. John Hamilton allowed myself and others to talk and talk and then at the last moments of discussion he came out with several paragraphs that were so well phrased that I am still thinking about his idea!
